フードロツクストライカ4は、前記フードインナ
パネル2との組立時に、フードインナパネル2の
下面部の取付穴2aからエンジンフードの下方に
突出され、図示を省略する車体側のフードロツク
に臨まされる。第1図に詳細を示す前記レインフ
オース部材3はその上部に前後取付フランジ3
c,3dを有し、これらの取付フランジ3c,3
dは、レインフオース部材3に対して箱型に組合
わされる断面ハツト状の上部レインフオース部材
5が溶接される。即ち、レインフオース部材3と
上部レインフオース部材5との組立剛性を強化す
るため、図示例では、前記取付フランジ3c,3
dに対しては、車巾方向に対して“ちどり”状に
配列させた複数の溶接耳3e,3fが一体成形さ
れ、これらの溶接耳3e,3fを上部レインフオ
ース部材5の下面に点溶接して全体に亘つた曲げ
剛性を強化される。薄い金属板でつくる前記上部
レインフオース部材5はその周縁部にプレス加工
にて有段成形された外周フランジ5aにより全体
としての曲げ剛性を強化され、さらに同上部レイ
ンフオース部材5の車巾方向に整列される複数の
重量軽減孔6の周縁部に加工する枠状リブ5bに
よつて上部レインフオース部材5の表壁部5cの
面剛性を補強してある。そして同上部レインフオ
ース部材5の表壁部5cは複数箇所の接着剤7を
用いて、前述したフードアウタパネル1の下面に
接着される。
