Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a telephone subscriber to recognize the ringing tones even if the subscriber is at a rempte place from a telephone set or even in a noisy environment by gradually increasing the volume of the ringing tones after the incoming of a call. CONSTITUTION:When the incoming signal received from a subscriber circuit 630 is detected by an incoming circuit 500, a high level '1' is outputted to a time counter 320 of a ringing tone production circuit 300. The basic pulses produced by an oscillator 310 are counted when an incoming informing signal 620 is set at '1'. Then the time elapsed from the incoming of a call is monitored and the sound volume control signals 600 and 601 showing the pulse counting results are outputted. Under such conditions, an amplification factor selector 230 outputs the level '1' to one of electronic switch control signals 241-244 in response to both signals 600 and 601. Then the switch corresponding to the electronic switch control signal that received the level '1' conducts. Thus the amplification factor of a ringing tone volume control circuit 200 is decided and outputted to a speaker 100.

This conventional telephone has the following problems.
Since the volume of the ringing tone is always set to the manually set volume, the ringing tone may not be heard or may be too noisy depending on the environment (the noise level) of the user. There is a problem that the user has to manually adjust the volume of the ringing sound each time. Further, if the volume of the ringing tone remains low, there is a problem in that it is not possible to notify the user of the fact that there is an incoming call even after a lapse of time after the incoming call.
