Abstract
は画像を鮮明に表示させる為のバックライトは光源に蛍
光管を使用しており、これを点灯させる為に約1KVの
交流電圧を印加するため、周辺には強度の高い電磁界が
発生し、これが液晶パネルの駆動信号と干渉を起こし液
晶パネル上にしま模様が発生するのを防止する。 【構成】バックライトの蛍光管1と拡散板2の間に透明
プラスチックフィルムを基材とし、表面に透明導電膜及
びアルミニウムパターンを形成した電磁遮へい材3を入
れ、これのアルミパターンとインバータ回路基板4のグ
ランドを電線で接続する。 【効果】拡散板上の電磁界強度が著しく低下し、液晶パ
ネル上からしま模様が除去できた。
Description
示装置に関し、液晶パネルの表示動作に電磁干渉を及ぼ
さないバックライト及び液晶表示装置に関する。
ッサ、テレビ等の表示画面として液晶パネルが用いられ
ている。この液晶パネルの背面より光を照射し、文字あ
るいは画像を鮮明に表示させる為の補助装置としてバッ
クライトがある。
液晶表示装置は表示画面となる液晶パネル11,液晶パ
ネル11内の画素に電圧を供給する為の回路基板12,
表示信号を処理する為の回路基板13、及びバックライ
ト14から構成される。液晶表示装置の薄型化を実現す
る為に液晶パネル11とバックライト14の間隔は数m
mの位置に固定してある。

光管1を光源とし、光を拡散させ均一な照光面を作るた
めの拡散板2、蛍光管ケース3及び蛍光管を点灯させる
為のインバータ回路基板4から構成される。

バータ回路基板から約1,000Vの交流電圧を供給し
ている。

管の周辺には強度の高い電磁界が発生し、これが液晶パ
ネルの駆動信号と干渉を起こし液晶パネル上にしま模様
が発生する問題点があった。

更に本発明によれば蛍光管と拡散板の間に透明導電膜
を有するバックライトが得られる。

形成した電磁遮へい材5を入れている。
のポリエステルフィルム6の表面にスパッタ法によって
透明導電材料であるインジウム錫酸化膜8を形成し、ア
ルミニウムパターン8を蒸着法によってインジウム錫酸
化膜8上に縁どった。最後に光の透過率向上とアルミニ
ウムの腐食防止の為に印刷法によってオーバーコート9
を施した。このアルミニウムパターン8とインバータ回
路基板のグランドを電線で接続することによって拡散板
上の電磁界強度は著しく低下し、液晶パネル上からしま
模様を除去することが出来た。
に図3に示すバックライトサンプルを用意して蛍光管か
らの距離に対する誘導電圧の強度を測定した。蛍光管は
直径4mm、長さ250mmのもので蛍光管ピッチを1
0mmとし7本並べた。誘導電圧測定箇所はバックライ
ト中央とし10pFでカップリングした電圧プローブを
使用した。電圧プローブと蛍光管の間隔は1mmから2
0mmまで移動させた。
無を比較した。尚、電磁遮へい材の効果を測定する場合
は電磁遮へい材を蛍光管から1mm離して置いた。
の場合は蛍光管からの距離が5mmのとき80Vで20
mm離しても10Vあった。電磁遮へい材を入れると5
mmの距離で4V、20mmで2Vとなった。この結果
から数値的にも電磁遮へい材の効果は高い事が確認でき
た。
が受ける電磁界強度は高まり、5mm以内に近付けた場
合にはしま模様が非常に濃くなり、画面情報の認識にも
支障をきたす。このような超薄型液晶表示装置に対して
は第1の実施例で用いた電磁遮へい材のアルミニウムパ
ターンを図5に示すパターンに変更した。このパターン
の狙いは電磁界強度の特に高い蛍光管の真上にアルミニ
ウムパターン8が重なるように配置させることによって
電磁遮へいの効果を高めている。
はこの部分の輝度低下を避けるために図6に示すような
光度に応じて調節した光の透過孔10を開けている。
光管1と液晶パネルの間隔が5mmの液晶モジュールも
しま模様の発生を防ぐことが出来た。
ポリエステルフィルムを用い、これを蛍光管と拡散板の
間に入れる実施方法について説明したが、図7に示すよ
うに透明導電膜7、アルミニウムパターン8を拡散板2
の上に直接形成する事も出来る。これによってポリエス
テルフィルムの厚みを削除でき、更にポリエステルフィ
ルムでの光透過損失がなくなるという利点がある。電磁
遮へいの効果はポリエステルフィルム基材の電磁遮へい
材と同等である。
ルミニウムパターン8(a)及び8(b)を電磁遮へい
材の基材となる拡散板2あるいはポリエステルフィルム
の両面に形成する事によって電磁遮へいの効果をさらに
向上する事が出来た。
管の周辺に電磁遮へい材を備えたバックライトを用いる
ことによって蛍光管周辺に発生する電磁界が液晶パネル
の駆動信号に干渉を及ぼすことがなくなり従来発生して
いた液晶パネル上のしま模様を除去する事が出来た。
晶表示装置を実現する事か可能になり市場拡大が期待で
きる他、周辺機器への電磁波障害を抑制する効果があ
る。

- 【請求項1】 透明導電膜を蛍光管の周辺に備えること
を特徴とするバックライト。 - 【請求項2】 前記蛍光管と拡散板の間に前記透明導電
膜を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のバックライ
ト。 - 【請求項3】 請求項1又は2記載のバックライトを有
することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
