[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a fuel tank suitable for being installed in an internal combustion engine that is used in an inclined position.

〔従来の技術〕[Conventional technology]

The fuel tank is constructed by joining an upper lid 1 and a lower lid 2 by welding, and a cap 3 and a filter 4 are attached to a fuel filler port provided on the upper lid, and a fuel filler 4 is attached to an outlet provided on the lower lid. Kotoku 5 is installed. In addition, a recessed groove 6 is formed on the upper surface of the upper lid 1 to release the fuel in a specific direction when the fuel overflows when pouring, and if the fuel adheres or is immersed, it may cause a functional malfunction. It is designed so that it is emitted in a direction that does not occur.

Note that the fuel tank is usually fixed above the internal combustion engine. When pouring fuel into such a fuel tank, there may be a slight overflow as the tank tries to fill the tank to the top, but the overflowing fuel can be safely discharged through the recessed groove 6.

In the above-mentioned conventional type, there is no particular problem in the case of a work machine in which the internal combustion engine is mounted in a horizontal position or a work machine in which the concave groove 6 is downward, since the overflowing fuel is smoothly discharged. In a working machine that is mounted with the groove 6 facing upward, there is a problem that overflowing fuel is not discharged in the desired direction.

Further, even if the capacity is increased by making the recessed groove a deep groove, it is not effective if the amount of overflow is large, and there is a problem that accumulation occurs.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an internal combustion engine in which an upper cover and a lower cover are joined together, and an oil inlet is formed on the upper surface of the upper cover, and a recessed groove is formed to guide oil that overflows from the oil inlet in a predetermined direction.
The joint surface of the lower cover, which is attached to the engine body, with the upper cover is inclined at an inclination angle added by a predetermined angle to the mounting angle of the internal combustion engine so that the direction of the recessed groove is lower, and an upper cover is joined to the lower cover, the upper surface and the joint surface of which are parallel to each other and the recessed groove is formed on the upper surface.

With the above configuration, even if the internal combustion engine is mounted at a certain angle and tilted, the concave groove will be tilted at a predetermined angle in a predetermined direction, making it possible to always discharge overflow fuel in the desired direction. can.

The fuel tank is constructed by welding an upper lid 11 (same as the upper lid 1 in FIG. 1) and a lower lid 12 together. A cap 3 and a fuel tank 4 are attached to a fuel filler port 14 provided in the upper lid 11, and a recessed groove 15 is provided in a predetermined direction in the upper lid 11, and a fuel tank 5 is provided in an outlet provided in the lower lid 12. It is installed. As shown in the figure, the joint surface of the lower lid 12 with the upper lid 11 is formed with an inclination angle that is the mounting angle θ of the engine body 13 plus a predetermined angle α, and the joint surface of the lower lid 12 is formed with the upper lid, that is, the upper surface. The upper lid 11 whose joint surfaces are parallel is welded. The lower cover 12 is fixed to the engine body 13 by an appropriate method. The upper surface of the oil filler port 14 of the upper lid 11 is also inclined by θ+α with respect to the bottom surface of the lower lid 12 in the same manner as described above.

According to the above configuration, when pouring fuel into the fuel tank, even if there is a slight overflow when filling the fuel tank until the mouth is full, the oil filling port 14 of the top lid 11 is inclined in the direction in which the fuel is to be discharged, so that the fuel can be poured in that direction. The fuel easily flows out, and since the recessed groove 15 is also inclined in that direction, the fuel flows out smoothly.

As mentioned above, according to the present invention, overflow fuel can be discharged in the desired direction, which is safe, and the same upper lid as conventional ones can be used, which reduces the mold cost by half. Since the welded part can be tilted to accommodate the welding part, it can be fixed to the internal combustion engine using the same method as conventional parts.
