As a particulate filter, for example, in Japanese Utility Model Application No. 58-102705, a bypass valve and an air supply device are controlled by a signal from a temperature sensor to prevent an increase in exhaust pressure due to clogging of the filter material. However, it does not actively prevent melting loss due to the above-mentioned local heating. Furthermore, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 59-70826, an exhaust pressure sensor is used to detect clogging and the reaction start time of the oxidation catalyst is accelerated to burn the particulate, but the above-mentioned local heating It does not prevent damage caused by corrosion.

To this end, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 59-148412 discloses a technique in which the center of the filter is made hollow and cooling air is introduced. However, in this known technique, since cooling air is forced to flow in, a power source is required. Also, Utsukai Showa 51-54010
Although the publication discloses a technique for cooling a reaction vessel with cold air from a radiator fan, this known technique has a catalyst cooling structure and cannot be applied to a particulate filter.

[Problems to be Solved] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a particulate filter that can prevent melting and damage of the filter material due to heating during regeneration while the vehicle is running, and that has a simple structure.

[Means for solving the problem] According to the present invention, the main body has conical parts at the front and rear,
In a particulate filter having a cooling air passage passing through the center of the filter material, a hollow section is formed through the center of the filter material, and the end of the pipe fitted into the hollow section is connected to the conical section. An air inlet and an air outlet are respectively formed by opening in the surface.

[Explanation of effects] Therefore, while the vehicle is running, the cooling air flows along the conical section in front and enters from the air inlet, so the center can be sufficiently cooled without the need for a power means such as a blower. can. Exhaust gas pipes are connected to the front and rear of the center of the main body, so providing flush openings in the front and rear conical parts makes it easier for cooling air to enter, and since there are no protrusions, there is no noise caused by wind noise or vibration. Does not occur.

In FIGS. 1 and 2, a filter material 4 is housed inside a main body 2 of a particulate filter (hereinafter referred to as filter), which is generally indicated by 1, with a heat shielding/cushion material 3 interposed therebetween. and,
A conical part 1 connected to an exhaust gas pipe is provided at the front and rear of the main body 2.
0 and 11. The exhaust gas enters the filter 1 as shown by the black arrow, and when passing through the filter material 4, the particulate is captured and purified by the filter material 4, and is discharged as shown by the white arrow. ing.

The filter material 4 is formed into a hollow cylindrical shape, and an inlet pipe 6 is provided with a dust removal louver 6a that communicates the hollow portion 5 with the front and rear of the main body 2 and the hollow portion 5.
A cooling air passage 8 passing through the center of the filter material 4 is formed by the outlet pipe 7 which communicates the rear part of the main body 2 and the hollow part 5. The cooling air W entering from the inlet pipe 6 is discharged from the outlet pipe 7 through a cooling air passage 8 as shown by the arrow. The inlet pipe 6 and the outlet pipe 7 each have conical portions 10 and 11 as shown in the figure.
It is open flush at the point.

Therefore, when the cooling air W flows through the cooling air passage 8,
The center of the filter material 4 is actively cooled. As a result, local heating of the filter material 4 during regeneration can be prevented, and melting loss can be reliably prevented.
