BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention mainly relates to a granular material for treating liquid excrement of pet animals. More specifically, it is a toilet bowl exclusively for pets, which is filled and laid in the urine collection area of a breeding box. The product of the present invention is a treatment material which is lightweight, has a large liquid absorption amount, is excellent in liquid absorption retention, and can be incinerated after use.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, bentonite, zeolite, and other inorganic minerals have been most often used as a material for treating excrement for pets because they are inexpensive. However, since it is a mineral, its weight is naturally heavy, which is inconvenient when carrying the product bag before use. In addition, since it is non-flammable, it will eventually cause pollution problems in waste disposal. For that reason, recently, a treated material formed by molding pulp and paper powder into particles has appeared.
They are lighter and more flammable than minerals. However, it is necessary to use a large amount of these treatment materials because the absorption amount of liquid excretion is small, and because the retention of the absorption liquid is poor, the stored liquid tends to leak from the absorption material during collection and transfer after use. There was a big drawback. Further, it is a major drawback that the manufacturing cost is high due to the poor raw material and poor workability.

The treatment material of the present invention is composed of superabsorbent resin powder and wood powder as the main components, so it is much lighter in weight than the conventional mineral treatment material and is flammable, so that it can be incinerated for pollution. No problem occurs. In addition, since wood powder can be used as a waste material, it is low cost. Furthermore, since the super absorbent polymer powder is uniformly mixed among the wood flour, it exhibits an excellent absorbing effect on liquid excrement.

In the present invention, in addition to the superabsorbent resin powder and the wood powder, other components can be blended within a range that does not impair the performance of the molded article itself, but 20% by weight or less is preferable. For example, as the deodorant, an inorganic substance having adsorption performance, bentonite, zeolite, activated clay, solid chemicals, and a water-soluble polymer such as sodium polyacrylate, polyvinyl alcohol, CMC, and starch as a molding aid are appropriately used. The water-insoluble superabsorbent resin powder may be a general commercially available powder, and its kind is not particularly limited. The particle size of the resin is preferably about 50 to 200 μm. If it is less than 50μ, the handling property will be poor, and if it is 200μ or more, the mixing property with wood flour and the moldability will be poor. Examples of these compounds include polyacrylic acid salt crosslinked products, starch-acrylic acid salt crosslinked products, acrylic acid esters, saponified products of vinyl acetate copolymers, acrylic acid salt-acrylamide copolymer crosslinked products, polyoxyethylene crosslinked products. Etc.

Of these, polyacrylate crosslinked products are most preferred from the viewpoint of performance. The compounding amount of the treated material of the present invention is 5
-30% by weight, preferably 10-20% by weight. In the case of pure water, these resins are 100 to 1000 times the weight of the resin.
In the case of urine, it has a large water absorption performance of 30 to 100 times, and is very excellent as an absorbent material for liquid excretions of pets.

By mixing the water-absorbent resin and the wood powder and shaping them into granules, the molding particles are light, and the liquid penetrates well into the central part of the granules, so that the liquid is sufficiently supplied to all the water-absorbing resins. It is possible to absorb a maximum amount of liquid. Since the liquid is occluded by the water absorbent resin, the return of the liquid is very small. Further, the absorbed particles are associated with each other to form a lump, so that if the lump is removed, the rest can be used as it is.

When the content of the water-absorbent resin is 5% by weight or less, the liquid absorbency is lowered, and when it is 30% by weight or more, the permeability of the liquid into the center of the molded particles is deteriorated. There are no particular restrictions on the type of wood flour used as wood flour. The cost can be reduced by using ordinary commercially available products or wood powder (waste chips) discarded in the timber processing industry. It is preferable that the length (size) of the wood powder is about 0.01 mm and is powdery.

Example 20 parts by weight of super absorbent resin powder (manufactured by Mitsubishi Petrochemical Co., Ltd., trade name Diawet S-II, polyacrylate resin, particle size 50 to 130 μ) and 60 parts by weight of wood powder (of hardwood) Dry pulverized product, length 0.01-0.5 mm),
A mixture of 20 parts by weight of zeolite powder (particle diameter: 5 to 50 μ) is added and kneaded while spraying 100 parts by weight of water. This is granulated by an extrusion molding machine and then dried with a hot air dryer at a temperature of 60 ° C. to obtain a particle size of 3 to 5 mm and a length of 10 mm.
Of the present invention were obtained. The absorption capacity of this granular material in physiological saline was 15 g / g. Moreover, when an appropriate amount of this granular material was put in a container and cat urine was poured over it, only the portion that absorbed urine became a nodule, and only that portion could be easily taken out. The bulk specific gravity was 0.25, which was much smaller than about 1/3 to 1/4 of the bulk specific gravity of the conventional commercially available mineral-based treated materials. When a small amount of this material was heated with a gas burner, a flame was emitted and burned. After burning, a small amount of black burning dust was confirmed.

Comparative Example The following comparative granules were obtained using the same wood powder and theolite powder as those used in the examples and without using the super absorbent resin. In a mixture of 70 parts by weight of wood powder and 30 parts by weight of zeolite powder, CMC 0.5% dissolved water 100 as a molding aid.
Add and knead while spraying parts by weight. This was granulated and dried in the same manner as in Examples to obtain comparative granules of the same size. The absorption capacity of this granular material for physiological saline is 2 to 4 g / g
Met. Also, when an appropriate amount of this granular material was placed in a container and cat urine was poured over it, the absorbed portion did not form a nodule. The bulk specific gravity was 0.30.
