きがあつたり防水キヤツプの肉厚が一定でないと
防水キヤツプは不均一な形状変化を起こす。すな
わち、駆動軸が下動した場合には、防水キヤツプ
は駆動軸に対して同心円状に凹まずに部分的に偏
つた状態で凹むため、防水キヤツプに不均一かつ
無理な力が加わり、その劣化を促進して寿命を短
くするという欠点があつた。加えて、このような
現象は外観上も好ましいものではなく、また、防
水キヤツプの無理な変形によつてエネルギーロス
が増加し、電動歯ブラシ全体の効率も低下すると
いう問題があつた。

ぼ円錐状を呈しており、周側部4には、周側部4
の他の部分よりも肉厚を薄くした環状の薄肉部5
が後述の駆動軸24と同心円状に形成されてい
