Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a resin by promoting the rupture of air bubbles in vacuum deaeration and shortening the period of heating in a thermostatic oven. CONSTITUTION:A method for promoting the rupture of air bubbles in vacuum deaeration, wherein a viscous resin 3 containing air bubbles 5 is put in a deaeration container 1 and vacuum suction is performed through a net member 13 disposed in an opening of the deaeration container. Thus, the air bubbles 5 surfacing up to the vicinity of the opening are forcibly ruptured by the net member, thereby permitting rapid deaeration.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, for example, a two-component coating resin has been used for coating components arranged on a substrate of a hybrid integrated circuit (IC) device.
Such a two-component coating resin is, for example, an alicyclic acid anhydride epoxy resin, and can be used by mixing and stirring two chemicals. Then, when the two chemicals are mixed and stirred, a large number of bubbles are generated in the resin, and therefore it is necessary to remove the bubbles before actually using the coating resin.

Conventionally, in order to remove the air bubbles of the two-component coating resin thus prepared and stirred, as shown in FIG. 3, the coating resin 3 prepared and stirred in the defoaming container 1 is removed.
Then, the whole degassing container is placed in a vacuum thermostatic chamber and kept in a vacuum state. As a result, the bubbles 5 floating above the coating resin 3 are spontaneously destroyed on the upper surface of the container over time, and the bubbles are gradually removed.

However, in such a conventional vacuum degassing method, since the air bubbles were awaited to spontaneously break in the upper part of the defoaming container, the defoaming takes a long time, for example, about 40 minutes. There was an inconvenience that it required.

In the above method, since the viscous resin containing bubbles is contained in the defoaming container and vacuum-sucked through the mesh member provided in the opening of the defoaming container, the bubbles rising above the defoaming container are Bubbles are forced to break through a mesh member such as a wire mesh. As a result, the bubbles can be removed in a shorter time than in the case of waiting for the natural destruction as in the conventional case.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a schematic configuration of an apparatus for carrying out a method of promoting bubble burst during vacuum degassing according to an embodiment of the present invention. The apparatus shown in the figure includes a vacuum thermostatic chamber 11 which communicates with the vacuum pump 7 through an exhaust pipe 9. A defoaming container 1 containing a viscous resin 3 such as a two-component coating resin is placed in the vacuum thermostatic chamber 11. A mesh member 13 such as a wire mesh is provided near the upper opening of the defoaming container 1.

In the apparatus as shown in FIG. 1, in order to remove the bubbles of the viscous resin 3 such as the two-component coating resin mixed with air by the mixing and stirring, the inside of the thermostat 11 is evacuated by the vacuum pump 7. As a result, as shown in FIG. 2, the air mixed in the viscous resin 3 becomes bubbles 5 and floats above the defoaming container 1. The floating bubbles collide with the wire net 13 and are forcibly ruptured when passing through the wire net 13. As a result, the bursting of bubbles is greatly promoted and the defoaming time is shortened. According to the experiment conducted by the inventor, when defoaming by such a method, it was possible to completely remove the air bubbles in about half the time, which is about 20 minutes. The temperature inside the vacuum thermostatic chamber 11 is heated to, for example, 40 to 50 degrees Celsius to lower the viscosity of the resin and prevent the resin from hardening.

As described above, according to the present invention, bubbles can be forcibly ruptured by passing them through a wire mesh during vacuum degassing, and the defoaming time can be greatly shortened. Further, since the heating time of the resin at the time of defoaming is shortened, deterioration of the resin due to heating is prevented.
