Abstract

PURPOSE:To save water supply and reduce the operation cost by providing a reception pan for receiving water dropped from an evaporation cloth part, and storing water such that the lower part of the evaporation cloth is dipped in the water. CONSTITUTION:An evaporating humidifier 21 is accomodated in a room unit of an air conditioner, and includes a tip end part 23a of a water supply pipe 23 and a diffusion cloth part 24 in a cylindrical water storage tank 22. Bottomed square reception pans 26 are parallelly arranged below the water storage tank 22, to which the lower end part of each evaporation cloth part 25 is allowed to face for storing therein water dropped from the evaporation cloth part 25. The lower end part of each evaporation cloth part 25 is disposed in the stored water. The water stored in the reception pan 26 is sucked by the evaporation cloth part 25 to moisten the evaporation cloth part 25 at all times. Further, a solenoid type drain valve 27 is provided at one end of the reception pan 26 and is opened/closed by a controller 29 to keep a water level d stored in the reception pan 26 unchanged and hence to permit the lower end of the evaporation cloth part 25 to keep a predetermined dipping condition at all times. Further, for preventing impurity concentration from being increased owing to long term storage, the whole of the stored water is properly drained and water is again supplied from the water supply pipe 23 for cleaning and prevention of clogging.

However, the lower end of each vaporizing cloth portion 25 is the receiving tray 2
Since the water is dipped in the stored water d of 6, the stored water level d is sucked upward by the capillary phenomenon and wets and vaporizes each vaporizing cloth portion 25, so that the humidification can be performed even when the water supply is stopped.

However, by repeating this, the impurity concentration of the stored water d in the tray 26 becomes high and clogging occurs, so the controller 29 appropriately opens the drain valve 27 fully and the tray 2 is opened.
After draining almost all of the stored water d of 6, the water supply pipe 23
Water is restarted, and cleaning water is flown down through the vaporizing cloth portions 25 to prevent clogging, the water after cleaning is drained, and this is repeated thereafter.

FIG. 3 shows another embodiment of the present invention,
This is configured so that the pan 26 can be rotated around the shaft 30. By rotating the pan 26 around the shaft 30, the stored water d in the pan 26 is drained to, for example, the drain pan 5 shown in FIG. It was done.
