A test tube is inserted into the hole of the adapter and held there. In this conventional adapter, each hole into which a test tube is inserted has the same depth. Each test tube has a large brim or a cap attached to the top end, and the holes in each hole should be adjusted so that when the test tube is inserted into the adapter and held, the brim or cap of adjacent test tubes will not interfere with each other. There were intervals. For this reason, the number of test tubes that can be held in the adapter is smaller than in the case where it is assumed that test tubes without brims or test tubes without caps are inserted and held. In order to use the centrifuge efficiently, it is desirable that the adapter can hold as many test tubes as possible.

In other words, the difference in the depth of the holes is greater than the length of the collar or cap in the depth direction of the test tube.

In other words, the adapter of this invention can hold more test tubes than the conventional adapter.

This adapter 11 is made of a substantially rectangular parallelepiped synthetic resin material, and holes 13 into which test tubes 12 are inserted and held are arranged in rows and columns on its upper surface. In this example, the outer diameter R 1 of the test tube 12 is 13 mm, and the inner diameter of the hole 13 is 14 mm. The test tube 12 is covered with a cap 14. Cap 14 has an outer diameter R 2 of 22 mm.
The height (length in the depth direction of the test tube 12) H1 is 10 mm,
The radial wall thickness D1 of the cap 14 is 4 mm. Handles 15 and 16 are provided on both sides of the adapter 11 and protrude upward so that the adapter 11 can be easily taken in and out of a bucket (not shown).

The difference L1 in depth between the shallow hole 13a and the deep hole 13b is slightly larger than the height H1 of the cap 14, and is 11 mm in this example. Also, the distance D 2 between adjacent holes 13 is equal to the radial wall thickness D 1 of the cap 14.
It is slightly larger, in this example 5 mm.

The holes 13 can be formed so close to each other that the test tube 4 and the main body of the test tube 12 do not come into contact with each other. In the case of the numerical example mentioned above, adapter 1 of the same size
1, conventionally it was possible to form only 10 holes 13, but with this adapter, 20 holes 13 could be formed.
Holes 13 can also be formed.

An example of an adapter 11 to which this invention is applied is shown for a case of 10 mm. In this example, adapter 11
The distance D 2 between the closest holes 13 is 3 mm.
The difference in depth between the shallow hole and deep hole L1 is 18 mm.
Therefore, six holes 13 can be formed.
However, according to the conventional technique in which the depth of the holes is the same, the number of holes is five in total, one in the center and four around it.

The efficiency of using the centrifuge can be increased accordingly. Note that if the hole depths differ in this way, the radius of rotation during centrifugation will differ and the centrifugal force will also differ; however, in reality, the difference in centrifugal force due to the difference in hole depth does not have much of an effect, and it can be used satisfactorily. It was confirmed that it can withstand
