Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine wherein there is no trouble on machining of a screw for a plug mounting hole even when a fiber-reinforced metal(FRM) is utilized, cooling ability of an ignition plug is improved, and engine performance is improved. CONSTITUTION:A head body 3 of which a combustion chamber part is composed is formed of an FRM weld forging. An FRM weld material 10 is welded to the inner peripheral wall of the head body 3, except a plug mounting hole 8 part formed in the central part of the head body 3, such that the thickness of the end part 9 side is increased to a value higher than that of the vicinity of the central part of a combustion chamber, and the wall surface of the a combustion chamber 7 is formed independently from the head body 3.

てエンジン性能の向上を図ることができる。
