を吸収できるようにした車両用バンパに関する。

り、バンパ本体3は衝撃吸収性能を向上させるべ

られている(実開昭58−194942号、実開昭61−
11449号公報参照)。

いて、衝突時によりバンパ本体3に衝撃力が加わ
ると、まずバンパ本体3のバンパリインフオース
メント1との対接面を除く外殻部分32が弾性変
形し、衝撃力が大きいとさらに外殻部分32を介
して凹陥部31が第2図に二点鎖線で示すように
弾性変形して衝撃エネルギを段階的に吸収するこ
とになるのであるが、この際、外殻部分32の付
け根に相当するバンパ本体3のバンパリインフオ
ースメント1側上下コーナー部33,33にはそ
れぞれ内面に過度の引張り荷重が作用し、この部
分が塑性変形して亀裂を生ずる問題があつた。第
3図は第2図のA部を拡大して示したもので、コ
ーナー部33の内面は引張り荷重によつてa−b
からa−b′へと変形し、局部的に変形量が大きい
ことが分る。コーナー部33が塑性変形すると、
形状が復元せず、バンパ本体3を再使用できない
ことになる。

ーナー部で塑性変形による亀裂を生ずることがな
く、したがつて復元性が高く、かつ上下コーナー
部の3箇所の小角部の曲率半径を小さくできて外
観的にも優れている。
