DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to the production of tulip bulbs by (E)-1-cyclohexyl-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1,2,
4-triazol-1-yl)-1-pentene-
This invention relates to a method for preventing tulips from becoming elongated by immersing them in an aqueous solution of 3-ol (hereinafter referred to as compound A). Among flower bulbs, tulips are the most popular, highly marketable, and have a wide cultivation area.
When cultivating flower beds or potted plants, there are problems such as flower stems tend to elongate and flower heads droop due to the rise in temperature in early spring. On the other hand, by treating the soil with uncimidol {α-cyclopropyl-α-(p-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidylmethanol}, which is a dwarfing agent, the effect of preventing growth can be expected. Found (M.Snel and Eysel, Prosweed Control Conference (1974)) (M.Snel and E.Eysel,
Proceedings 12th British Weed Control
Conference (1974): 115-122). However, in this case, the effect of preventing growth may vary depending on the treatment time, and when treating potted tulips, a prescribed amount of liquid of a prescribed concentration must be individually injected, which requires a lot of labor. It has the following disadvantages. Furthermore, as environmental pollution caused by pesticides has become a problem in recent years, there is a need for a method that can effectively prevent growth with a small amount of application. The present inventors have conducted intensive studies on a method to more easily and reliably prevent the growth of tulips with a lower dose of the drug.
(Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 55-111477) It was discovered that the elongation of tulip inflorescence stems can be easily prevented by planting after soaking in an aqueous solution as disclosed in JP-A No. 55-111477, and the method of the present invention was completed. The method of the present invention will be explained in more detail below. According to the method of the present invention, tulip bulbs are dried for 1 minute to 24 hours, preferably 5 minutes to 1 hour before planting.
time, 1 to 5000 ppm of compound A, preferably 50 to
Planting after soaking in a 1000ppm aqueous solution will not only easily prevent the tulips from growing too long, but will also
The flower stems also grow thick and strong, making it possible to grow high-quality tulips. An aqueous solution of Compound A can be obtained not only by dissolving Compound A in an organic solvent such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, acetonitrile, etc. and diluting it with water, but also by mixing Compound A with a carrier and an adjuvant to prepare a plant growth regulator. It can also be obtained by diluting commonly used formulations such as wettable powders, emulsions, flowable preparations, liquid preparations, etc. with water. Furthermore, when tulips are immersed in an aqueous solution of Compound A, they may be treated together with an insecticide, fungicide, plant growth regulator, or the like. Next, a test example will be given to demonstrate the effect of the method of the present invention on preventing tulip elongation. Test example 1 Tulip (variety: Golden Harvest)
The bulbs were stored refrigerated at 5° C. for about 2 months, and then immersed in an aqueous solution of Compound A or Ancimidol diluted to a predetermined concentration for a predetermined time. After air drying, they were planted in No. 6 plastic pots and cultivated in a greenhouse at 22°C to 27°C. Each test was repeated three times, and the flower stalk length was measured at the time of flowering (one month after planting), and the average length for each treatment plot was determined. The results are shown in Table 1.
Flower stalk length is expressed as a percentage of the untreated plot. 【table】
