The present invention relates to a reeler rolling mill for rolling seamless steel pipes equipped with inclined rolls and inclined plugs. When rolling a shell using a rolling machine in the manufacturing process of seamless steel pipes, poor engagement occurs due to the shape of the tip of the shell, etc. This causes various problems such as a decrease in productivity in the seamless steel pipe manufacturing process and a decline in the quality of the steel pipes. This is the cause of the problem. In particular, in the Mannesmann plug mill rolling method, the reeler is the final mill that performs wall thinning, so the wall thickness of the reeler entrance shell becomes thinner, and deformation of the shell tip side is often seen, making it easy to cause poor biting. . Conventionally, measures to prevent poor engagement with reels include (1) reducing wall thickness reduction at the plug head to improve tube engagement;
Thickness reduction is also applied to the reeling part. (2) Reduce the plug jump (difference between the reeler plug diameter and the pipe inner diameter before reeler rolling). Although such countermeasures have been taken, it has still not been possible to eradicate the problem of poor biting. In addition, from the perspective of preventing poor biting, there is little research conducted on the shape of the plug, and only a few studies have been conducted on the shape of the curved tip.
It has only been investigated. According to research conducted by the present inventors, reeler engagement failures often occur in shells with a diameter of approximately 250 mm or less, and such reeler plugs have traditionally had a large length-to-diameter ratio. Based on this, as a result of repeated research focusing on the relationship between plug length and reeler engagement failure, it was discovered that reeler engagement failure can be prevented by designing the plug length to an optimal value. The present invention was made based on this knowledge, and an object of the present invention is to provide a reeler rolling mill equipped with a reeler plug having a shape that can prevent poor biting. As shown in Fig. 1, the reel mill rolls the shell 4 by bringing the inclined roll 1 into contact with the outer surface of the shell 4 and inserting the reeler plug 2 into the inner surface.As shown in Fig. 2, the effective rolling length l of the reeler plug is It can be divided into a length d after the roll gorge part 5 during rolling, and a length S on the entrance side from the roll gorge part (distance between the tip of the effective rolling part of the plug and the roll gorge). The length d after the roll gorge is determined by ensuring the reeling length to prevent reeler marks (inner spiral steps) and taking into consideration the ability of the shell to penetrate at the end of rolling. In addition, the appropriate plug diameter for each rolling size is determined by the expansion force required when rolling that size with a reeler, and the reeling length required to prevent reeler marks is approximately the same regardless of the roll shape. constant. Therefore, it can be said that an appropriate value for the length d after the roll gorge portion is determined by the plug diameter and the feed angle of the rolling roll. On the other hand, the length S of the plug on the entrance side from the roll gorge part has been set appropriately longer than in the past, especially 250 mm.
It is long for tubes smaller than φ, and according to research by the present inventors,
It has become clear that this has a large effect on the poor engagement of the reeler. FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram for estimating the occurrence of reeler biting failure, and is a comparative diagram of a longer plug 2a and a shorter plug 2b on the entrance side from the roll gorge portion 5. In other words, if the length of the plug is too long on the entry side than the roll gorge portion 5, the tip of the shell 4 will hit the plug 2a before the shell 4 is fully gripped by the roll 1, causing a biting failure, as shown in FIG. It becomes easier. FIG. 4 shows the ratio (S/ FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing the relationship between h) and reeler biting failure. From the graph shown in the lower half of Figure 4, there is a remarkable relationship between S/h and the incidence of biting defects.
From the perspective of preventing reeler biting failure, S/h is 3.0
It is necessary to do the following. On the other hand, if S/h is too small, the reduction will start abruptly from the curved end of the plug during rolling of a thick shell, making the plug susceptible to damage and causing internal reeler marks (spiral steps). According to experiments conducted by the present inventors, this lower limit value was S/h=0.2. That is, when designing the plug length in the reeler, it is extremely effective to set S/h in the range of 0.2 to 3.0 in order to prevent reeler biting failure. Next, the effects of the present invention will be explained using specific examples. As a result of applying the plug according to the present invention to a reel mill plug, the occurrence of bad biting in the reeler was significantly reduced. Table 1 shows the productivity improvement resulting from this, and Table 2 shows the outer diameter sizes of 7 inches and 8-inches shown in Table 1.
Plug diameter 180mm, each corresponding to 5/8 inch
This figure shows a comparison between a conventional S/h reeler plug with a diameter of 207 mm and an embodiment of the present invention. In other words, if a plug with a diameter of 180 mmφ is used for a shell with an outer diameter of 7 inches and a wall thickness of 8.05 mm, but h = 23 mm, S/h = 5.2 in the past, but in this invention, S/h = 1.6. . As a result, as shown in Table 1, productivity was improved by 3.3%.
