Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure that the first position on a printing sheet is detected to enable data to be printed regardless of a position for sheet notion to the right or left of the sheet by detecting a relative printing position to the printing sheet in accordance with a distance where a printing head moves after the detection of the left end of the sheet by a sensor installed on the head which prints data moving to the right or the left. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 5 for detecting a left end on a printing sheet 1, is installed on a printing head 4 which prints data moving to the right or the left. Then the printing head 4 performs a printing action in accordance with a relative printing position to the printing sheet 1 detected in compliance with a distance where the printing head 4 moves after detection of the left end of the sheet 1 by the sensor 5. Subsequently, it is possible to detect the first position on the printing sheet regardless of a position for sheet suction to the right or the left of the sheet.
