Abstract

PURPOSE:To certainly enable printing up to a final line even when a new line pitch becomes large because a medium to be printed is a thin slip, by altering the time, until a page end signal is emitted after the lower end of the medium to be printed was detected by a sensor, corresponding to the length of the medium to be printed in the feed direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:If any medium to be printed, that is, a thick or thin slip is fed to the medium feed path between feed rollers 2, 3, the upper and lower ends of the medium are respectively detected by an upper end sensor UES and a page end sensor PES to apply printing to a predetermined line. In this printing apparatus, when the length of the medium in the moving direction thereof is equal to or less than a reference length, a page end signal is emitted at the point of time when the medium was sent by a definite step after the lower end of the medium was detected and, at the time of the reference length or more, a page end signal is issued at the point of time when the medium was sent by the step, wherein a predetermined correction step was added to a definite step, after the detection of the lower end to set a final printing line.

In printing devices used in banking and the like to print on both passbooks and slips as media, differences in line feed pitch occur due to differences in the thickness of the media.

In other words, for sheets that are thinner than a passbook, the feed pitch is large, for example, the line break pitch for a regular-sized passbook is 5.08.
If +n+++, the line break pitch of a single sheet is 5.10 to 5.
It will be 12m. Therefore, when an A4 size ticket or the like is used, the positional deviation of the last line between the bankbook and the ticket reaches a maximum of about 2 to 3 tones, taking into account deviations due to device assembly errors.

<Problem to be solved by the invention> If a page end signal is issued to set the last line for a passbook and a ticket with the same bottom margin, when printing on a ticket, it will take only a certain number of steps after the bottom edge is detected by the page end sensor. At the position where the slip is sent, that is, the position where the print position reaches a certain distance from the bottom edge (this distance is relatively short, it can be considered to be almost the same for both passbooks and single slips), the amount of print feed up to that point is calculated. Since this is large, the printing position may be located between the second and third lines from the last line. If a page end signal is issued in this state, the second line from the last line will be set as the last line to be printed, and the original last line will not be printed and will be ejected from the printing section.

<Means for Solving the Problems> In order to achieve this object, the present invention uses an A/4 end sensor that detects the passage of the upper end of a medium moving on a conveyance path driven by a step motor, and a 4/4 end sensor that detects the passage of the lower end of the medium. In the method for setting the final printing line of a printing device having a page end sensor, when the medium is fed a certain number of steps after the bottom end is detected by the page end sensor, a page end signal is issued and the next line is the final printing line. If the length in the moving direction is less than the reference length, the page end sensor will detect the bottom end and a page end signal will be issued when the medium has been sent the specified number of steps. If it is longer than the reference length, the page end sensor will detect the bottom end. A page end signal is issued when the detection signal body has been sent by the above-mentioned fixed steps plus a predetermined correction step.

Function> Based on the thickest medium normally used as a standard, the feeding steps from the upper end sensor detection to the page end sensor detection when feeding this medium are taken as the standard steps,
When another medium is sent, it is determined whether the medium is shorter or longer than the reference medium depending on whether or not the page end sensor detects passage of the lower end at the time when the page end sensor detects the end sensor and sends the medium by the reference step. For a medium that is the same length as or shorter than the reference medium, a page end signal is issued when the medium is fed the same fixed step as the base medium after the lower end is detected by the 4-diene sensor. A medium that is longer than the standard medium is considered to be thinner than the standard medium, such as a cut sheet.
In order to correct the deviation in the line feed pitch, a page end signal is issued after the page end sensor detects the bottom end and the page end signal has been sent by the above-mentioned fixed steps plus a predetermined correction step.

Let B be the number of feeding steps from the upper end detection by UKS to the lower end detection by PES. This B is the reference step number. From the position (C) where PES detects the lower end to the predetermined C
Generates a page end signal at the position where only a step has been sent (

The operation when printing on a vote will be explained below. The ticket 8 is sent through the transport path 1, and when the top end reaches ugs, the UES issues a top end detection signal (

Repeat the printing operation at a predetermined line feed pitch and judge the output of PE8 at the position moved by the above reference step B (g)
. In this example, PES is a low level output in a shielded state. In the case of this low level output, the medium is determined to be longer than the reference medium (passbook). The printing operation is repeated at the predetermined line feed pitch until the bottom edge of the cut sheet is P.
When reaching ES, PES issues a lower end detection signal (h).

As described above, if it is determined that the medium is longer than the reference medium at the position of the end, a page end signal is generated at a position moved by C+α steps after the bottom end is detected by the PES (j).

This is because the code is between the second and third lines from the last line, so the second line from the last line is set as the final print line and is no longer printed on the original last line. This is because the line spacing between the lines printed so far is larger than in a passbook and each line is shifted toward the bottom end. The correction amount α is calculated in advance based on the amount of deviation in line feed pitch between the passbook and the ticket, the length of the ticket, and the like.

If the output is at the Hlgh level in a transparent state, it is determined that the medium is the same length as a bankbook or shorter. In such a case, the correction amount α step is not added, and a page end signal is issued when C steps have been sent after the lower end is detected by PES.

FIG. 2 is a block diagram for implementing the method of the invention described above. In the print line set line feed control section, the first print line is set according to a signal from the UES, and the line feed operation is controlled. In addition, in the page end processing control unit, the UES,
Page end processing is controlled as described above based on both PES signals. The step motor 4 is driven and controlled based on the outputs of these two control sections.

FIG. 3 is an example of a circuit diagram of the page end processing control section shown in FIG. 2. After detecting the upper end of the UES, the counter 9 counts B steps, determines the output of the PES at this time, and based on this, the counter 10 or 11 outputs a page end signal when the illuminance of the motor is set to 1 by 9C steps or C+α steps. and drives the step motor so that the next row is the last row.
