PURPOSE:To attain the restarting of an operation program without backing up the RAM of a main storage part at all by incorporating an EEPROM in portable terminal equipment and storing the operation program. CONSTITUTION:A main storage part 4 consists of a RAM 9 which is a program executing area and an EEPROM 10 which is a program storing area. The RAM 9 receives the supply of a power source from a main power source 8 and the EEPROM 10 receives the supply of the power source from a power source for writing 5. A basic program is stored in a ROM 6. At initial operation, after an operation program inputted from an external device is stored in the EEPROM 10 temporally, it is transferred to the RAM 9 and is started. Thus, the operation program can be stored in the EEPROM 10 as in conventional down load procedure and even when the program of a program executing area is damaged in execution, the operation program can be read from the EEPROM 10 again to the RAM 9 which is the executing area and can be executed.
