Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the visibility of a display by providing an outside seal which has a 1st fiber which is provided outside a color filter formed up to the outside of an effective display area and an inside seal which has a 2nd fiber which is provided on the color filter and has a smaller diameter than the 1st fiber. CONSTITUTION:This element is provided with the color filter 9 which is formed up to outside the effective display area, the outside seal 11 which is provided outside the color filter 9 and has the 1st fiber, and the inside seal 12 which is provided on the color filter 9 and has the 2nd fiber having the smaller diameter than the 1st fiber. Namely, the inside seal 12 is provided inside the outside seal 11 to decrease the gap difference between upper and lower picture element electrodes at the outer peripheral part and center part of the effective display area. Consequently, an increase in threshold voltage difference and the generation of an irregularity in contrast are evaded and the visibility of the display is improved.

ルで、外側シール11は第1のファイバ(図示せず)を
有し、第1のファイバの径は約9−である。12は配向
膜10上すなわちカラーフィルタ9上に設けられた内側
シールで、内側シール12は第2のファイバ(図示せず
)を有し、第2のファイバの径は第1のファイバの径よ
りも小さく、第2のファイバの径は7−である。13は
上板電極ガラス1と下板電極カラス6との間に封入され
