Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent creak or deformation from occurring on each starting or finishing of energization of a heater and obtain an electric heater with low noise and a long useful life, by anchoring a central part of a panel form heater to a bottom plate by a heater anchoring plate, and supporting both ends of the heater by heater support plates. CONSTITUTION:A roughly rectangular panel form heater 2 disposed in a main body casing 1, a heater anchoring plate 3a comprising a metallic plate and disposed at a central part of the heater 2, a bottom plate 4 covering the bottom side of the casing 1, a top panel 5 covering the top side of the casing 1, an intake port 6 formed in the bottom plate 4, an exhaust port 7 formed in the top panel 5, and heater support plates 8 supporting both ends of the heater 2 thereon are provided. Dimensional changes due to repeated expansion and contraction of metallic plates 2a, 2b of the heater 2 on starting and finishing of energization of the heater 2 are dissipated to both sides of the anchoring plate 3a. Therefore, an electric heater with low noise and a long useful life can be obtained.

In the figure, 1 is a main body case, 2 is a substantially rectangular plate-shaped heater arranged inside the main body case 1, and a heating wire is attached to the mica core.
For example, two metal plates 2a and 2b are formed by winding a nichrome wire and insulating the core mica with insulating mica, as shown in Fig. 4.
The configuration is such that it is held between the two.

Next, the effect will be explained. When electricity starts to be applied to the plate heater 2, the plate heater 2 generates heat. As a result, the air inside the main body case 1 is warmed and rises, and is discharged to the outside from the exhaust lower of the upper panel 5 as shown by arrow a, thereby warming the room.

On the other hand, as the hot air is released, cold air from the lower part of the room is drawn into the main body case 1 from the intake port 6 as indicated by the arrow.
It is heated by the plate-shaped heater 2 and rises inside the main body case 1. This causes convection to occur indoors, and the indoor air is heated efficiently.

At this time, the pair of metal plates 2a and 2b, which sandwich the heat generating wire, expand and contract in all directions depending on the temperature each time the plate heater 2 starts and ends energization.

For example, in the case where the heating wire is held between long metal plates 2a and 2b as in this example, the expansion and contraction will be large, and the dimensional difference during expansion and contraction will be caused by the deformation of the plate heater 2 itself and the difference between the plate heater 2 and the plate heater 2. This is absorbed by the mounting play between the heater mounting plate 3b and the like.

In the conventional electric heater configured as described above, the dimensional difference in expansion and contraction that occurs each time energization to the plate heater 2 starts and ends is compensated for by the deformation of the plate heater 2 itself and the difference between the plate heater 2 and the plate heater 2. Since the heat is absorbed by the backlash between the heater mounting plate 3b and the like, there are problems such as squeaks and deterioration of characteristics due to deformation.
