Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition having excellent thermal stability and flame-retardancy and suitable as a coating material or connecting material for electric wire, cable, etc., by compounding an inorganic lead-based stabilizer to a soft mixture consisting of a vinyl chloride resin and a polyester plasticizer. CONSTITUTION:The objective vinyl chloride resin composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride resin (e.g. vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer or three-dimensionally crosslinked vinyl chloride resin) with (B) 10-100 pts.wt. of a polyester plasticizer consisting of a linear polyester having a molecular weight of about 1,000-8,000, (C) 0.5-50 pts.wt. of one or more inorganic lead-based stabilizers (e.g. tribasic lead sulfate, dibasic lead phosphite or basic lead silicate) and, as necessary, (D) other stabilizers, fillers, ultraviolet absorbers, flame-retardants, colorants, etc.
