Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform deck-landing quickly and safely by installing a measuring instrument for the altitude and distance of a helicopter-VTOL plane and a device for transmitting the measured data both in a ship with a landing deck, and setting up another device, receiving the data and displaying it in a pilot, in the helicopter-VTOL plane. CONSTITUTION:A device 3, measuring the altitude and distance of a helicopter 2 or the like to be landed on a ship 1 with a landing deck and transmitting the measured data at real time, is installed therein, while a device 4 receiving data transmitted out of the ship and another device 5 displaying the data are installed as well. A pilot is steering an air frame so as to reduce a vertical motion (heaving) in his own plane with a deck of the ship as looking a position of his own plane with the deck, and then he is gradually lowering the altitude for landing as controlling it so as to make motion of this own plane accord with the heaving at a deck-landing position of the ship. Thus, the degree of dependence on skill of the pilot becomes lowered, and time required for the deck-landing is shortened, thus a range of operation of the helicopter or the like on a deck of the ship under bad weather is enlarged.

The present invention provides a ship with a landing deck with a device that measures the altitude and distance of a helicopter, etc. that is about to land on the ship, and transmits it in real time, and also transmits the data sent from the ship to the helicopter, etc. that is landing on the ship. A device for receiving data and a device for displaying data are provided to guide the landing.

By displaying the received data on the display using such a guidance device, the non-pilots can land while viewing the landing status of their own aircraft on the display, reducing the workload of the non-pilots. In addition, there is no need to carry a device to measure the position of the aircraft, which saves space and weight, and it is also possible to use large and heavy measuring devices onboard a ship.

Although the guidance system of the present invention is affected by the rolling of the ship, rolling can be reduced by providing a fin stabilizer on the ship, and it is even more effective if a stable ship system is used for the deck.

The pilot, while looking at the position 14 of his aircraft relative to the deck on the ID, as shown in Figure 3(b)K, maneuvers the aircraft to reduce the vertical movement (heaving) of his aircraft relative to the deck. While adjusting the aircraft's movements to match the heaving at the ship's landing position, the aircraft gradually lowers its altitude and lands.
