[Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a method for separating Duurene, and particularly to a method for separating and obtaining highly pure Duurene from a gasoline-Durene mixture by a crystallization method. The most well-known tetraalkylbenzene is durene, 1,2,4,5-
It is tetramethylbenzene. Durene is an important intermediate for the production of pyromellitic anhydride, which has been attracting attention as an important industrial product in recent years as a raw material for heat-resistant resins such as polyimide, and heat-resistant curing agents and heat-resistant plasticizers for epoxy resins. [Prior Art] Various methods have already been proposed for separating and purifying Duurene from a mixture of petroleum fraction and Duurene. For example, in a gasoline-durene mixture,
A method of distilling a fraction with a boiling point lower than 150-165°C, cooling a fraction with a boiling point higher than 150-165°C to 30°C to crystallize Duurene, and separating Duurene from the mother liquor (U.S. Patent No. 4524227), after fractionating the low-boiling fraction, the high-boiling fraction containing 40 to 60% by weight of Duurene was cooled to 21°C to crystallize Duurene, and washed with methanol. A method for obtaining Duurene with a purity of 97.0% by weight (see European Patent No. 146658), in which a mixture of Duurene-Isodeurene-aromatic hydrocarbons (carbon number: 10) is treated in the presence of aluminum trisalt, followed by alkylate distillation. Method of obtaining Duurene by distillation and crystallization (U.S. Patent No.
3530195) are known. However, these methods have drawbacks as described below. For example, in the above method, US Pat. No. 4,524,227
The method disclosed in the above specification is advantageous in that duurene is recovered in high yield at the same time as gasoline is produced, but it has the disadvantage that the purity of the recovered duurene is not sufficiently high. On the other hand, in the case of the method disclosed in European Patent No. 146658, improvements such as washing the crystallized Duurene crystals with methanol were added, and Duurene with a purity of 97.0% by weight was obtained. This purity is generally at a level that meets Duuren's requirements for commercial grade products. However, when Duurene is used as an intermediate raw material for producing pyromellitic anhydride, it is desirable that the purity of Duurene is 99.0% by weight or more. This is because when producing pyromellitic anhydride by gas-phase oxidation of Durene, it is required to suppress impurities in the raw material as much as possible in order to maintain the reaction yield and life of the catalyst. This is because it is known that it is difficult to purify the obtained pyromellitic anhydride to a high degree of purity using normal methods. For example, distillation in a multi-stage column must be carried out at high temperatures, and industrial distillation is difficult. This is because it is known that it is very difficult to use this purification method (see Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63039/1983). Therefore, when producing high-purity pyromellitic anhydride, one effective method is to use high-purity Duurene as a raw material. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The present invention aims to solve the problems of the above-mentioned methods, and specifically includes the following items. (1) Separate and refine Duurene from a gasoline-Durene mixture by relatively simple operations to obtain Duurene of high purity (99.0% by weight or more). (2) When pyromellitic anhydride is produced using separated and purified Durene as a raw material, a predetermined reaction yield can be obtained and highly pure pyromellitic anhydride can be obtained. [Means for Solving the Problems] That is, as a result of studies on separation and purification methods of duurene from a gasoline-duurene mixture, the present invention provides a method for recovering duurene from a gasoline-duurene mixture with a relatively simple operation and producing high-purity duurene. (99.0
% by weight or more) of Duurene. That is, when cooling a gasoline-Durene mixture and crystallizing Duurene, purified Duurene with a particle size of 1 mm or less is added as a seed crystal, the resulting Duurene crystals are separated from the mother liquor, and the Duurene crystals are further centrifuged. This is a method for separating and purifying Duurene from a gasoline-Durene mixture by refining it by the following methods. Although the gasoline-durene mixture used for separation and purification can be subjected to the above treatment with any composition, it is specified to have the following composition range from the point of view of efficient industrial operations. That is, the concentration of durene in the gasoline-durene mixture is 30 to 60% by weight, and the concentration of pseudocumene is 1 to 60% by weight.
15% by weight, and the isodeyrene concentration is preferably in the range of 1 to 5% by weight. The crystallization temperature may be any temperature within the temperature range at which Duurene crystallizes, but from the viewpoint of efficient operation, it is preferably within the temperature range of 2 to 25°C. The Duurene added as a seed crystal must be as pure as possible,
It is desirable that the purity is 99.0% by weight or more. The amount added is preferably in the range of 1 to 5% by weight based on the gasoline-durene mixture. When the amount was less than 1% by weight, the effect of seed crystal addition was not sufficiently obtained, and even when added in excess of 5% by weight, no difference in effect was observed. Purity is easily achieved by the above procedure.
It becomes possible to obtain Duurene with a content of 99.0% by weight or more. [Function] According to the present invention, when the gasoline-Durene mixture is cooled and the Duurene is crystallized, purified Duurene is added as a seed crystal, and the average particle size is 0.1 to 1.5 mm.
The Duurene crystals grown to the extent of φ are separated from the mother liquor, and the Duurene crystals are further purified by centrifugation. At this time, a correlation was observed between the amount of purified Duurene added as crystals and the purity of the obtained Duurene crystals. That is, by adding purified Durene as a seed crystal in the above range, it was possible to obtain Duurene crystals with high purity. [Effects of the Invention] According to the present invention, when a gasoline-durene mixture is cooled to crystallize duurene, the purified duurene specified above is added as a seed crystal, the generated duurene crystals are separated from the mother liquor, and further duurene is Highly pure Duurene can be obtained by a relatively simple operation of purifying the crystals by centrifugation. Thus, in the present invention, Duurene can be obtained with a purity of 99.0% by weight or more, which is extremely suitable as an intermediate raw material for producing pyromellitic anhydride.
That is, it has been found that when pyromellitic anhydride is produced from Durene by gas phase oxidation according to the present invention, the reaction yield and life of the catalyst can be maintained at a high level and over a long period of time. Furthermore, it is known that it is difficult to purify the obtained pyromellitic anhydride to a high degree of purity using normal methods, but by using the present invention, it is possible to easily produce highly pure pyromellitic anhydride. It becomes possible. [Example] Examples of the present invention will be shown below, but the present invention is not limited thereto. Examples 1 to 10 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 As shown in Table 1, gasoline-durene mixed distillates have a duurene concentration of 30 to 60% by weight, a pseudocumene concentration of 1 to 15% by weight, and an isodeurene concentration of 1 to 5% by weight. 100g each at 50°C while stirring.
After heating to completely dissolve, the cooling rate is 0.5 to 0.7
It was cooled at a rate of ℃/min, and when the liquid temperature reached 35℃, Duurene with an average particle diameter of 0.2 mmφ and purity of 99.0% by weight, which had passed through a sieve of 1 mmφ, was added to the gasoline-Duelene mixed fraction as a seed crystal. 1 to 10% by weight were added as shown in Table 1, respectively. Further cooling was performed to crystallize Duurene crystals within a temperature range of 5 to 25°C. The crystals obtained in the crystallization and separation experiments were then purified by centrifugation to obtain Duurene with a purity of 99.0% by weight or more. The centrifugation conditions were as follows. Container diameter 24cm, rotation speed 3000rpm, time 20 minutes,
Centrifugal effect 1207G. Duuren analysis is a flexible fused silica capillary column FFAP (0.251mmφ x 50m)
It was analyzed using the internal standard method. The results obtained are shown in Table 1. Using Durene obtained by the method of Example 4, pyromellitic anhydride was synthesized by the method shown below by a gas phase air oxidation method. That is, a catalyst having the composition shown in Example 1 described in JP-A-60-246343 (catalyst composition weight ratio)
V 2 O 5 :TiO 2 :P 2 O 5 :Nb 2 O 5 :Sb 2 O 5 =10:90:
0.5:0.3:6) was filled into a stainless steel reaction tube with a diameter of 25 mm, and then immersed in a molten salt bath maintained at 390°C. (Hereinafter, the temperature of the molten salt will be abbreviated as NT (°C).) 15 g of Duurene and 500 Nl of air were passed therein/hour to cause a reaction. The reaction gas was led to a collector and a water-washed collector to collect the product. The entire collected product was dissolved in warm water and analyzed by liquid chromatography. The yield was calculated by converting pyromellitic acid into pyromellitic anhydride. The results obtained are shown in Table 2. In addition, for comparison, the results obtained by Duurene obtained by the method of Comparative Example 1 are shown in Table 2.
