In recent years, connectors installed in electronic devices have tended to become smaller and smaller, and there is also a desire for lower costs. Therefore, the socket contacts mounted on connectors are required to have low profile and to be efficient in material removal. Conventionally, as this type of socket contact, the one shown in FIG. 3 is known. FIG. 4 is a developed view of the socket contact, showing the shape after being punched out by press working from a conductive plate material having spring properties.

That is, since the socket contact 1 is held in the connector, the holding part 1 has press-fit protrusions 11a on both sides.
1 on one end and a socket contact 1 on the other end.
The spring portion 1 is divided into two parts by a slit 12 extending in the longitudinal direction of the spring part 1 and extends parallel to each other.
3 and a terminal portion 14 are formed. Next, Figure 3 is a developed view of Figure 4 with bending processing applied.
The spring portion 13 is bent into a substantially U-shape along the slit 12 toward the holding portion 11 from a bending line 15 (indicated by a dotted line in FIG. 4) shown at the end position of the slit 12.
After the spring portion 13 is opposed to the plate surface of the holding portion 11, it is extended so as to gradually approach the holding portion 11, and is bent again in the direction away from the holding portion 11 near the tip, thereby providing a contact portion 13a. A contact portion 16 is formed by making the contact portion 13a face the holding portion 11.

However, the socket contact 1 mentioned above
As shown in the plan view of FIG. 3b, the center of the contact portion 13a of the contact portion 16 that contacts the mating contact (located on the center line 16a) is located eccentrically with respect to the center line 14a of the terminal portion 14. Therefore, when creating a printed circuit board with an insertion hole for attaching a connector incorporating the socket contact 1, the amount of eccentricity should be taken into account when inserting the terminal portion 14 into the printed circuit board. The arrangement positions of the holes had to be set, which was extremely troublesome.

The present invention is a socket contact that is electrically connected to a pin contact, and one end of which is formed with a holding part with press-fit protrusions on both sides, and the other end of which is cut and separated by a slit and extends parallel to each other. In the socket contact, the socket contact has a terminal part and a spring part, the spring part is bent along the slit in the direction of the holding part, and the contact part is formed by facing the plate surface of the holding part. The spring part is formed in a direction oblique to the center line of the insertion part formed on the distal end side of the terminal part, and the spring part is bent toward the holding part side along the slit, and is formed at an angle with respect to the center line of the insertion part. The center of the contact portion of the contact portion is located on an extension of the center line of the insertion portion.

With the structure described above, when the socket contact is assembled as a socket side connector, the center of the contact portion of the contact portion that is disposed on the mating surface side with the mating connector and comes into contact with the mating contact, and the printed The insertion portions are arranged so that the center lines of the insertion portions protruding from the board mounting surface side and inserted into the insertion holes of the printed circuit board are on the same line. In this way, since the center of the contact portion is not located eccentrically with respect to the center line of the terminal portion, a socket contact is obtained that facilitates setting of the arrangement position of the insertion holes when producing a printed circuit board.

The following is an example of the present invention shown in Figures 1 and 2.
This will be explained with reference to the figures. FIG. 2 shows the shape after being punched out by press working from a conductive plate material having spring properties. socket contact 2
A holding part 21 with press-fit protrusions 21a on both sides is formed on one end side as in the conventional example, and a spring part 23 and a terminal part 24 are provided on the other end, which are cut and separated into two parts by a slit 22 and extend. There is. As shown in the plan view (FIG. 2), the spring part 23 is connected to the terminal part 24 from one end of the holding part 21 by a slit 22 formed at an acute angle with respect to the center line 21b of the holding part 21.
It is separated from the image and expanded to a constant width dimension. On the other hand, the terminal part 24 has a narrow insertion part 24a formed on the tip side to be inserted into the insertion hole of the printed circuit board, and the center line 24b of the insertion part 24a is aligned with the holding part 24a.
It is located on the same line as the center line 21b of 1.

Next, FIG. 1 shows the developed view of the socket contact 2 shown in FIG. 2 after being bent. The spring portion 23 is bent from a folding line 25 shown by a dotted line (see FIG. 2) at the end of the slit 22 toward the holding portion 21 along the slit 22 to form a substantially U-shape, and then gradually folded into the holding portion. 21 in a direction approaching the plate surface. The spring part 23 is connected to the center line 21b of the holding part 21 and the center line 23 of the spring part 23.
At the point opposite to the intersection point A (see FIG. 2) where A intersects on the holding part 21, the holding part 21
The contact portion 23b is formed by bending in a direction away from the plate surface. Therefore, the contact portion 23b is opposed to the plate surface of the holding portion 21 so that the center in the width direction on the center line 23a corresponds to the intersection point A on the holding portion 21,
A contact portion 26 into which a mating terminal is inserted is formed. As shown in the plan view of FIG. 1b, since the contact portion 26 is provided at an angle with respect to the center line 24b of the insertion portion 24a, the center portion of the contact portion 23b that contacts the mating contact is located at the holding portion. 21 center line 2
1b and opposite the intersection A on the center line 21b
Since the center line 24b of the insertion portion 24a is on the extension line of the insertion portion 24a, the insertion portion 24a is also arranged on the same line as the center line 24b.

As explained in the above embodiment, this invention involves cutting and separating one end of the socket contact to form a spring part and a terminal part with a slit that is aligned with the center line of the insertion part provided at the tip of the terminal part. The center of the contact part of the contact part, which is formed diagonally and is provided by folding back the spring part along the slit, is located on an extension of the center line of the insertion part, which facilitates material removal and provides a low-profile structure. However, when producing a printed circuit board, a socket contact can be obtained in which the arrangement position of the insertion holes can be easily set without considering the amount of eccentricity between the center of the contact part and the center line of the insertion part.
