[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a web cutting device for cutting a web (thin strip material such as metal, paper, plastic film, etc.) being transported, and particularly relates to a web cutting device for cutting a web (thin strip material such as metal, paper, plastic film, etc.), and particularly for cutting the cut web into a new material. The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cutting a web suitable for an automatic web winder that winds the web around a core.

Conventionally, shear type, rotary cutter type, and the like are known as cutting devices used in automatic web winding machines. For example, in Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-12437, a pair of rotary cutters, a cutter traveling device for moving the pair of rotary cutters in the web transverse direction, and an extension line of the blade contact point of the pair of rotary cutters are disclosed. A web cutting device has been proposed that includes a guide plate that regulates the guiding direction of the leading edge of a web cut in parallel positions. However, when the web cutting device cuts the web while it is being transported, it is difficult to avoid applying tension directly to the cutting section, and the tension may cause the web to break in a direction different from the cutting line. in this way,
If the web breaks not along the predetermined cutting line, the web may get stuck in the cutter or adhere to a new winding core, resulting in poor winding.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and allows the web to be reliably cut in a predetermined direction without the risk of breaking in a direction different from the cutting line when cutting the web. It is an object of the present invention to provide a web cutting method and apparatus that can improve operational reliability.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention has a rotary cutter that moves the web in the cross-web direction by tilting the extension line of its blade contact point at a predetermined angle with respect to the web transport direction, and attaches the web to both sides of the cutter. A pair of left and right nip rollers are provided to pinch both side edges of the cutting line from the thickness direction, and the nipping points of the left and right nip rollers are positioned on the same plane as the cutting point of the rotary cutter. As a result, the nip roller prevents the tensile force for transporting the web from acting on the blade contact point, and also holds the web surface perpendicular to the cutting surface of the rotary cutter.

A pair of left and right nip rollers 44, 46, 48, 50 are mounted on the rotating shafts 36, 38 of the rotary cutters 16, 18 so as to be rotatable together with the respective rotary cutters 16, 18, respectively. It is being Each nip roller 44, 46, 48, 50
are arranged such that the upper and lower parts correspond to each other and can hold the web 15 with a predetermined pressing force. The upper rotating shaft 36 is rotatable, and the rotation of the lower rotating shaft 38 is controlled by the rotation of the rotary cutter 18 and nip rollers 46 and 50.
6. The nip rollers 44 and 48 are configured to rotate in a driven manner. The lower rotating shaft 38 is connected to the gear device 5
2, and the gear device 52 is driven by cutter running. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, a rack 54 is fixed to the support frame 28 of the traveling device 24, and a gear 5 shown in FIG. 4 is rotatably attached to the lower casing 12.
6 meshes with the rack 54 and rotates when the casing runs, and the pulley 58 rotates integrally with this gear 56.
However, the intermediate gear 60 is rotationally driven via a driven pulley 62 and a belt 64. A driven gear 66 meshes with this intermediate gear 60, and the lower rotating shaft 38 is connected to this driven gear 66.

Assuming that the cutting point of the web 15 has now been reached, a drive motor (not shown) is activated and the cutter travels through the rotation of the pulley 32 of the traveling device 24. The rotary cutters 16 and 18 begin cutting the web 15 from one side edge as the web traverses. At this time, both sides of the cut portion of the web 15 are held between the nip rollers 44, 46, 48, and 50 from the thickness direction, so even if tension is applied to the web 15 during transport and cutting, the cut portion does not Tension is broken. Therefore, no tension is applied to the web cutting section, and no unnecessary resistance is applied to the cutter. Therefore, the web 15 is cut by the rotary cutter 16,1
8 along the extension line direction of the contact point. That is, the cutter running speed is set so that a composite vector with the transport speed of the web 15 occurs in the web transverse direction.

As a result, the cutters run smoothly in the web transverse direction, and the web 15 is cut diagonally at an angle that matches the direction of the blades of the rotary cutters 16 and 18. In addition, the web 15 is
4, 46, 48, and 50 and is not subjected to tensile force, no breakage occurs. Further, since the nipping points of the nip rollers 44, 46, 48, and 50 are located on the same plane as the cutting points of the rotary cutters 16 and 18, the web 15 can be cut sharply. The cut web 15 is placed on the guide plates 40, 4
2 and is fed out without bending in the thickness direction.

When the rotary cutters 16 and 18 cross the web 15, the rear ends of the guide plates 40 and 42 are located almost directly below the New Core 68, and the cut end of the web 15 is moved to the New Core 68 without causing any unstable behavior. be guided. At this time, the auxiliary roller 70 is raised to come into contact with the new core 68, and the cut web 15 is stuck by the adhesive on the outer peripheral surface of the knee core 68 and wound up.

According to the embodiments described above, unnecessary tension is not applied to the web 15 when cutting the web, and the web surface is held perpendicular to the cutting surface of the rotary cutter, so that the web can be cut smoothly and no breakage occurs. There is no fear. Therefore, cutting is performed smoothly and reliably, resulting in stable behavior of the web tip, and moreover, the front and rear of the web cutting section are connected to the guide arms 35, 3.
7 and guide plates 40 and 42, and there is no flapping or the like, so that the leading end of the web can be reliably wound.

As explained above, according to the web cutting method and apparatus according to the present invention, since the nip rollers are provided on both sides of the rotary cutter, no tension is applied to the cut portion of the web, and the web surface is cut by the rotary cutter. Since the web is held perpendicular to the surface, the web can be reliably cut in a predetermined direction without causing breakage, and excellent effects such as greatly contributing to improving the reliability of automatic web winding operations are achieved.
