Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of the device without requiring a cylindrical lens nor expensive toroidal lens by providing two surfaces which reflect collimated light and an adjusting means which adjusts the reflecting surfaces so that scanning planes by the reflecting surfaces become equal. CONSTITUTION:The two mirrors 1 are fixed to a mirror base 2, which is fixed to a driving motor 3. The surface of the mirror 2 which is fitted to the driving motor 3 is long at right angles to the mirrors 1 and its one end is so structured as to adjust the gap 5 to the motor 3 with a screw 4 which is provided nearby. The two mirrors 1 are adjustable as shown by an arrow A and the angle to a rotary shaft for driving them is adjustable to a constant angle. Namely, the scanned surface by the two reflecting surfaces can be made equal. Consequently, neither the cylindrical lens nor the expensive toroidal lens is required, so the device cost is reducible.

Conventionally, this type of laser scanning device scans collimated light using a rotating polygon mirror with six or eight surfaces. Since the set angles of each surface of this rotating polygon mirror vary by about 1 to 2 minutes, a cylindrical lens and a toroidal lens are used to correct the fluctuations in the scanning position on the image plane. was.

The present invention provides a rotation system having two surfaces that reflect collimated light irradiated from a laser light source through an optical system, and an adjusting means that can be adjusted so that the scanning surfaces (scanning positions) by these two reflecting surfaces are equal. It is composed of polygon mirrors.

The rotating polygon mirror, which is the main part of the present invention, is mirror 1. Mirror base 2. Consisting of a drive motor 3 and screws 4, the two mirrors 1 are irradiated with collimated light from a laser light source via an optical system (not shown), and this reflected light is irradiated onto a scanning surface (not shown). Further, the two mirrors 1 are fixed to a mirror base 2, and the mirror base 2 is fixed to a drive motor 3. Drive motor 3 for mirror base 2
The mounting surface has a long shape perpendicular to the mirror 1, and one end thereof has a structure in which a gap 5 with the drive motor 3 is adjusted by a screw 4 provided near the mirror 1. Thereby, the two mirrors 1 can be adjusted in the direction of the arrow A, and the angle between them and the rotating shaft that drives them can be adjusted to a constant value. That is, the scanning planes of the two reflecting surfaces can be made equal.
