Conventionally used unit type curtain walls have grooves for fitting glass or other surface materials in the upper and lower horizontal frames and left and right vertical frames, and these four frame materials are framed into a square to form a unit. is arranged on the outer surface of the building frame, and the facing material is fitted using the fitting groove of the facing material.

<Prior art> Figures 7A and 7B are a cross-sectional view and a vertical cross-sectional view of a conventional unit type curtain wall, respectively.
This unit is formed of upper and lower horizontal frames 101, 102 and vertical frames 103, 104, and a face material 106 such as glass is fitted into each face material fitting groove 105.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> In this case, in terms of external design, it is possible to emphasize the lines created by the frame, but it is difficult to obtain a design that does not emphasize the frame.

In other words, the external dimensions of the frame, W 1 W 1 and the joint dimensions W 2 within the unit are absolutely necessary, resulting in a large W dimension that is inevitably emphasized in appearance. In addition, in order to attach the face material to the above unit, the face material fitting groove of one or two of the four frame members forming the unit is shaped into an externally pressed edge type.
The facing material was attached by fitting it in a ``Yarikoshi style'' and then fixing the pressed edge. For this reason, for example, installing glass from outside in a "push-in" manner at the spandrel portions requires extremely complicated steps and is inefficient.

<Means for Solving the Problems> An object of the present invention is to provide a curtain wall that has an excellent appearance because the mounting frame is not visible from the outside, and that allows for easy installation of surface materials.

A first invention to achieve the above-mentioned object is to attach a unit frame composed of left and right vertical frames and upper and lower horizontal frames to the outer surface of a building frame so as to be adjacent to each other in the vertical and horizontal directions, and to attach a unit frame to the unit frame. The outdoor surface of the unit frame is provided with a space between it and the adjacent unit frame to form a receiving surface for the panel material, and a horizontal joint between the unit frames installed adjacently is provided. A flange is provided on one of the horizontal frames of the unit frames adjacent to each other in the section, and protrudes from the outer peripheral end of the panel receiving surface toward the outdoor side from approximately the center of the space, and reaches almost the outdoor surface of the panel. A section is formed over almost the entire length of the frame material, and a space is formed between the face material receiving surface of the unit frame and the flange portion in which the face material is inserted via a spacer, and a spacer is provided on the above mentioned face material receiving surface. This is a unit type curtain wall comprising a small-area connecting member that connects a panel placed through the unit frame to a unit frame at its corner, and a connecting means that fixes the connecting member to the unit frame.

In the second invention, a unit frame composed of left and right vertical frames and upper and lower horizontal frames is fixed to the outer surface of the building frame adjacent to each other in the vertical and horizontal directions, and a face material is attached to the unit frame. In the curtain wall, on the outdoor surface of the unit frame, a space is provided between the unit frame and the adjacent unit frame to form a facing surface, and horizontal joints and vertical joints between the unit frames installed adjacently are provided. The horizontal frame and the vertical frame of either one of the adjacent unit frames at the joint part should protrude from the outer periphery of the face material receiving surface toward the outdoor side from approximately the center of the gap, and should have approximately the roof of the face material. A flange portion reaching the outer surface is formed over almost the entire length of the frame material, and a space is formed between the surface material receiving surface of the unit frame and the flange portion in which the surface material is to be fitted via a spacer, and a space is formed between the surface material receiving surface of the unit frame and the flange portion. A unit type curtain wall comprising a small-area connecting member that connects a panel placed on a receiving surface via a spacer to a unit frame at its corner, and a connecting means that fixes the connecting member to the unit frame. .

On the outdoor side of the vertical frames 1A, 1B and the horizontal frames 2A, 2B, there are surface material receiving surfaces 5A, parallel to the outer surface of the building.
5B, 6A, and 6B are formed, and when the unit frame is constructed, the respective face material receiving surfaces are arranged on the same plane. Also, the peripheral side edges of the glass receiving surfaces 5A and 6B of the right vertical frame 1A and the bottom frame 2B (the peripheral side refers to the outer peripheral side of the framed unit. In other words, in this example, the bottom edge of the bottom frame, the right vertical frame ) are formed with flange portions 7 and 8 that protrude from approximately the center of the space toward the outdoors. The flange portions 7 and 8 are formed over substantially the entire length of the flat surfaces 5A and 6B, respectively. As a result, one flange is formed in each of the horizontal joints and vertical joints of adjacent unit frames.

It is advantageous to form a flange on the vertical joint side as in the first, third, fourth, and fifth embodiments, as it prevents horizontal movement of the face material during an earthquake or the like. Furthermore, if a face material presser is provided at the intersection of the unit frame, watertight construction at the intersection becomes easy.

<Effects of the Invention> Since the present invention is configured as described above, according to the first invention, it can be installed by simply moving the facing material horizontally toward the outdoor surface of the unit frame, which improves on-site work efficiency compared to the conventional method. Much improved. The appearance of the curtain wall can be made entirely of glass so that the frame is hardly visible from the outside, and a novel design not seen before can be provided. Further, the face material can be stably supported by the flange portion of the lower frame.
