The outer skin material was wrapped around the ring part A, and a considerable amount of tension was applied to both ends of the ring part and the material was sewn together while being pulled. Therefore, it takes a lot of time to stitch the skin material of a single leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the work requires strength and skill.

Therefore, it has been desired to cover the skin material only with an adhesive, or to use adhesive to prevent it from turning, so that the ends of the skin material can be sewn together in a simple manner.

た。 However, the olefin-based synthetic resins used in conventional steering wheels, such as PP, have extremely poor adhesive properties, so before covering the skin material,
Requires pretreatment to improve adhesion. In other words, the surface has been roughened to give it an anchor function, degreased and cleaned to make it easier to bond, or treated with a primer to give it adhesion, but these pre-treatments have extremely poor adhesion. In addition to being an extra process due to the scarcity, it was also complicated in terms of process control and led to an increase in processing costs.

This complicates the process and increases the bonding cost.

The main body of the resin material covered with the skin material is made of a synthetic resin material with low adhesiveness such as polypropylene, and a part of its surface is made of adhesive material such as ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) resin or PS (polystyrene) resin. For example, as shown in FIG. 1a, an adhesive piece made of a synthetic resin with a high hardness is attached by fitting the mounting leg 4' into the groove 2' of the resin body 2, and a part of the surface of the resin body 2 is attached. This method solves the conventional problems by applying an adhesive 6 to at least the surface of the adhesive piece 4, then wrapping it with a skin material and solidifying the adhesive to cover the adhesive piece 4. Since the skin material is now firmly adhered to the resin material body that covers the entire circumference of part A, it is possible to omit sewing the skin material with thread, and moreover, it is possible to prevent rotation using adhesive. Therefore, even if a seam surface is required for design purposes, there is no need to pull and sew them together. Furthermore, by simply fitting the adhesive piece 4 onto the resin main body 2, there is no longer a need to perform a complicated and costly adhesion improvement treatment on the resin main body 2.

On the other hand, it has high adhesiveness with the skin material 3.
The adhesive piece 4 made of ABS resin has a leg 4' that fits into the groove 2' of the resin main body 2, and an adhesive surface 4'' extending in an arc from the top of the leg to both sides. When the part 4' is fitted into the groove part 2', the adhesive surface 4''

Thread stitching 7 was applied in the same way as the previous skin-wrapped steering wheel, but now that the adhesive piece made of ABS resin and the skin material 3 can be firmly bonded, thread stitching patterns are added to both edges of the skin material. may be applied in advance, and the tensioning of the skin material 3 may be accomplished only by adhesion, and the thread sewing means may be omitted.

Although it is possible to apply the adhesive 6 not only to the adhesive surface of the ABS resin adhesive strip but also to the surface of the resin material itself, if the adhesive 6 is applied over a too wide area, it may be difficult to wind the skin material 3. As a result, slippage between the skin material 3 and the resin material main body becomes poor, which is unfavorable in terms of alignment of the end portions of the skin material 3.

The main body of the resin material is made of a synthetic resin with low adhesiveness, and a piece of adhesive with good adhesiveness such as ABS resin is fitted onto a part of the surface, or is integrally molded and bonded. Since the skin material and the skin material are bonded together, it is possible to eliminate the conventionally troublesome thread sewing work due to the strong adhesion of the skin material, and the adhesive prevents the skin material from turning and twisting, so it can be used for design top stitching. Even when mating surfaces are required, there is no need to pull and sew them together, thread stitching can be done only for formal purposes, and covering with the skin material can be done easily and quickly.
