Abstract

PURPOSE:To fasten up an engine through a single step of fastening a nut, by inserting a slitted collar in one of a brackets fixed to a vehicle body frame, by forming a tapered fitting hole in the bore part of the collar, and by forming a tapered surface at the inner end of the nut. CONSTITUTION:A bolt 7 is inserted through brackets 5 welded to right and left vehicle body frames 1 of a motor-cycle and clamping therebetween an engine support part 2a, and is fastened up by a nut 8. In this arrangement, an annular auxiliary bracket 5a is welded to one of the brackets 5, and a collar 6 having splitting slits is inserted to the other one of the brackets 5 so as to clamp the engine support part 2a. A tapered fitting hole 9 is formed in the bore part of the collar, and a tapered shank part 12 is integrally incorporated with the inner end part of the nut 8. When the nut 8 is tightened, the collar 6 is pressed axially through the abutting between the tapered shank part 12 and the tapered fitting hole 9 so as to abut against the engine support part 2a, and thereafter, it is diametrically enlarged so as to closely fitted in the inner periphery of the bracket 5.
