CONSTITUTION:An air cleaner which comprises a driving part 3 for driving an electric motor 2, an ultraviolet ray detecting part 4 for detecting ultraviolet rays, a counter part 10 for counting the number of times when the ultraviolet ray detecting part 4 detects such rays, a reference clock generating part 11 for producing an appropriate pulse of timing signal and a control part 12 for controlling the revolution number of the electric motor 2 by receiving an outlet from the counter part 10, whereby the revolution number of the electric motor 2 is controlled according to the number of output pulses from the ultraviolet ray detecting part 4.
