The selection of the parts to be used and the settings for the timing are made every time the print item changes. (The tension of the paper in the infeed section 2 may be set by the air pressure of the dancer roller). This setting is determined by the position in the width direction of the rotary press, the selection and timing of each part of the folding machine according to the folding specifications, and the selection and timing of each part of the folding machine are determined by calculation formulas determined in the design of the rotary press. ) is adjusted using set values calculated based on conventional experience. The printing conditions set using these set values are finely adjusted (corrected) on the actual machine and used as correction values, and the rotary press is operated using these correction values.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The above-mentioned prior art has the following problems. Conventionally, each time the basic conditions were determined depending on the printing item, each part of each device was set using the setting values calculated using the calculation formula determined in the rotary press design and the empirical formula, and then the setting values were determined using the actual machine. The rotary press is operated with this correction value after making slight adjustments to it.

[0005] Therefore, many calculations and setting of each part require time and effort. Also, each time a job for the same print item comes in, the same calculations and fine-tuning are repeated over and over again. Therefore, some places create visible tables,
Since there are many parts that require settings for each part of the rotary press, it is difficult to create a table for all parts.
Moreover, since this is used, it is difficult to extract those having the same basic conditions from a large number of tables.

[Means for solving the problem] (1) Setting values calculated using calculation formulas and empirical formulas determined in rotary press design based on basic conditions given for each printing item, and using these setting values to After setting each part of A list of conditions for many printing items,
Save to the console's computer database. (2) For the next printing item, search to see if there is one that matches the basic conditions of this printing item in the list (table) above, and if there is one with the same conditions, or if there is a Continuous quantities such as quantities have a width as a matching condition,
The correction value or measured value of the existing print item having the same basic conditions is used as the setting value for setting the print condition of the next print item. (3) When there is no matching print item, start by calculating the set value using calculation formulas and empirical formulas, and when correction values and measured values are obtained, add them to the list.

[Operations] (1) Since there are nearly 100 printing items input and stored in the database, almost all combinations of basic conditions of printing items that are actually ordered are covered. (2) Therefore, there is always an existing print item with the same basic conditions as the next print item, and it can be easily extracted. Furthermore, since the correction value or measured value of an existing print item is set as the setting value, there is almost no need to further fine-tune the setting. (3) The setting values and correction values are calculated and fine-tuned as before, but the data in the list stored in the database increases the probability of matching when searching.

[0010] This console 11 has been created based on the basic conditions for each printing item and the procedure shown in FIG. Setting values calculated by the CPU using empirical formulas, and corrections obtained by setting each part of each device via the interface and sequencer of each device using these setting values, and then fine-tuning each set part. Figure 2 shows the values measured by a sensor (not shown) during operation of the rotary press.
A list of each part is created and stored in the database in the console 11, as shown in FIG.

[0011] Since about 100 types of printing items are listed in this list, it can be considered that most of the printing items and their basic conditions for the next job are memorized. Therefore, this list is searched to find an existing print item with the same conditions as the next print item, or with a wider range of paper weights, etc. The found correction value or measured value of the print item is used as the set value for the next print item, and is displayed on the CRT or printer, and each part of the rotary press is set according to the set value.

[0012] If the same one cannot be found, calculate it using the CPU calculation formula and empirical formula as described above.
Setting values are determined, each part is set using these setting values, and fine adjustments are made and set using the actual machine. The correction value obtained by performing this fine adjustment is additionally stored in the list together with the set value. The settings to be made include the paper feed chuck position a of the paper feed section 1 for the basic paper width, the compensator position b of the web path section 6, the turn bar position c, the triangular plate d position (side lay), etc., and the folding machine 7. In this case, there are a chopper side layer, a vertical perforation side layer (both not shown), other paper cut sensor switching, edge guide sensor position, etc., and these are determined by a calculation formula when the paper width is determined.

Based on the following basic conditions such as ream paper quality, printing speed, etc., the draw values for each part of each device to make the web tension appropriate are calculated using an empirical formula. The peripheral speed ratio of the drag roller driven by the line shaft to the peripheral speed of the printing cylinder is determined via a continuously variable transmission such as the web path 6 or the like.

[Effects of the Invention] According to the method for automatically setting printing conditions for a printing press according to the present invention, setting values are determined by calculation based on the basic conditions of many printed items in the past, and the parts set with these setting values can be fine-tuned on the actual machine. The correction values obtained through adjustment and the measured values measured by operating the rotary press using these correction values are stored in a list in a database, so the basic conditions determined by the print items for the next job are based on these values. In most cases, the basic conditions of one of the printed items in the list are met. Therefore, you can search for this print item, pick it up from the list, and use the correction value or measured value of this print item as the setting value for the next print item to set the part, and there is no need for fine adjustment. There aren't many.
