Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase a firmness of a perforation line in a paper width direction, prevent the occurrence of a longitudinal wrinkle like cut with an are which tends to occur across the perforation lines, and stabilize a stackability by a method wherein after the position of the perforation line formed on continuous paper is recognized, a black belt is printed. CONSTITUTION:In the process of feeding continuous paper provided with perforation lines at predetermined intervals by a feed means, a printing pattern processed in a pattern generation part 1 is printed on the continuous paper by a recording part 2. The printed continuous paper is processed to be folded at the perforation lines and stacked by a stacker. Such a printer is provided with a paper feed amount detection means 3 for detecting the feed amount of the continuous paper and a perforation line length detection means 4 for detecting a length between the perforation lines. The detection results of the detection means 3, 4 are inputted to a black belt printing control part 5. The position of the perforation line is recognized in accordance with the detected perforation line interval and paper feed amount. The recording part 2 is so controlled as to print a predetermined pattern on the appropriate perforation line position.

2. Description of the Related Art FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the general structure of an electrophotographic printing apparatus. In the figure, 31 is a photosensitive drum that forms and holds an image to be printed. A printing operation is performed by placing equipment for performing each process on the circumference of this photosensitive drum and rotating it. The surface of the photosensitive drum 31 is uniformly charged by a pre-charger 32, and when an image is exposed by an exposure means 33, the charges in the exposed portion disappear and an electrostatic latent image is formed. Thereafter, a developer 34 applies toner to the electrostatic latent image and develops it, thereby making it visible. Then, when the continuous paper conveyed by the paper feed tractor 40 at the same speed as the circumferential speed of the photosensitive drum 31 is charged by the transfer charger 35, the toner image formed on the photosensitive drum 31 is transferred. Then, the photosensitive drum 31 to which the toner image has been transferred is transferred to an AC static eliminator 3 in preparation for the next image formation.
In step 6, the residual toner and paper powder that have not been transferred are removed so as to be easily removed, and the remaining toner and paper powder are removed with a fur brush 37. Then, the cleaning blade 38 completely removes the slight amount of residual toner and paper dust that could not be removed by the fur brush 37. Thereafter, by irradiating the surface of the photosensitive drum 31 with a photostatic eliminator 39, the electric charge on the surface of the photosensitive drum 31 is eliminated, and the potential on the surface becomes uniform. Thereafter, printing is performed by repeating the same steps. On the other hand, the continuous paper onto which the toner image has been transferred is conveyed to a fixing device 41, where the toner is melted and fixed. In addition, the paper feed tractor 4 is operated by the scuff roller 42.
By conveying the continuous paper with a slight overfeed compared to 0, loosening or flapping in the fixing device 41 is prevented. Thereafter, the continuous paper is guided by a guide 43, folded back one after another, and placed on a table 44. Further, by applying vibration with the oval rubber roller 45, the continuous paper is easily folded at the perforations, thereby improving the reliability of stacking performance.

However, in order to support functions such as image printing and color printing, such printing apparatuses require an increase in fixing energy. When an image is fixed by a fixing device with increased fixing energy, the black portion absorbs more heat, the amount of paper shrinkage increases accordingly, and the difference in shrinkage between the black portion and the white portion increases. Furthermore, when printing an image in which the black portion occupies a large proportion, the difference in the shrinkage of the paper as described above becomes even larger, and as this difference in shrinkage increases, wavy wrinkles occur. When these wrinkles occur in the paper transport direction,
This is exacerbated when the paper is stacked, and as shown in FIG. 4(a), vertical wrinkles a are formed in the perforations as if they were cut with a machete. When such vertical creases in the shape of a machete blade occur, they would normally break as shown by the dotted line in Figure 4(b) due to the local weakness of the perforation, but the vertical creases a in the shape of a machete blade become taut. This results in folding as shown by the solid line, which causes folding defects. In particular, when the difference in shrinkage is large as described above, vibration of the elliptical rubber roller alone cannot prevent folding defects due to the machete-like bending, and stable stacking properties cannot be obtained.

[Operation] Based on the perforation interval obtained from the perforation length detection means and the paper feed amount obtained from the paper feed amount detection means, the black belt printing control section recognizes the perforation position and sends a predetermined pattern to the recording section. By doing this, a band-shaped solid black pattern is printed at the perforation position. By printing a band-shaped solid black pattern, the thickness of the paper increases by the thickness of the toner, and the stiffness of the perforations in the width direction of the paper becomes stronger. Therefore, even if the vertical wrinkles are to be promoted up to the perforations during stacking, the vertical wrinkles will stop increasing at the portion where the thickness has increased due to the toner.

1 shown in FIG. 1 is a character pattern generator that converts character data sent from a host device into a character pattern for printing, and a character pattern generator that converts character data sent from a host device into a character pattern for printing, and a character pattern generated by the character pattern generator and a character pattern sent from the host device. This is a pattern generation section consisting of a bitmap memory that develops image data. A recording section 2 records the contents of the bitmap memory developed by the pattern generation section 1 onto a photosensitive drum, and is composed of an exposure device using a semiconductor laser or an LED element array. [0010] Normally, the recording section 2 sends out the print pattern developed in the bitmap memory of the pattern generating section 1 in synchronization with the conveyance of continuous paper. As a result, an arbitrary printing pattern 21 as shown in FIG. 2 is printed on the continuous paper. Then, the perforation length is detected by the counter of the paper feed amount detection means 3 that counts the feed amount of the paper feed tractor and the value set according to the number of holes between the perforations connected to the tractor pin provided on the continuous paper. The perforation position is recognized by reading the value from the means and comparing the values. When the perforation position is recognized, a control signal is sent to the recording section 2 for a predetermined period of time in order to generate a 1/2 inch wide black solid. In addition, when only normal characters are to be printed, the function of the present invention is not necessary, and the control signal will not be sent to the recording unit 2 unless the black belt setting device is set, so printing of black belts can be regulated. You can also do it. The recording unit 2 to which the control signal has been input causes a semiconductor laser or all LEDs to emit light while ignoring the print pattern while the control signal is being input, thereby printing a black band 22 as shown in FIG. Ru.

Furthermore, by finely adjusting the operation of the counter of the paper feed amount detection means 3, it is possible to form a black band on the perforation as shown in FIG. A black band can be formed near the eyes.

[0012] By printing black bands on the perforations in this way, the perforations become stiffer in the width direction of the paper, and the continuous paper becomes curved to the point of folding at the perforations when stacking the paper. Also, since the promotion of vertical wrinkles is stopped at the black belt, machete-shaped vertical wrinkles will not occur.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the band-like solid black printing function near the perforations prevents the occurrence of machete-shaped vertical wrinkles that occur across the perforations when the image is printed and fixed. Therefore, it has the effect of stabilizing the stacking property and greatly contributes to improving the stacking performance of electrophotographic printing devices that use continuous paper as a printing medium.
