Abstract

PURPOSE:To apply unsaturated polyester resin coating in uniform coating thickens. CONSTITUTION:A condensation agent is applied to the surface of an object to be coated and unsaturated polyester resin coating is applied thereon to perform coating. The unsaturated polyester resin coating is increased in its viscosity by the condensation agent and the flow of the coating material is suppressed to prevent the offset of the material.

[Prior Art] When painting with an unsaturated polyester resin paint, especially when applying a thick coat, the painted surface of the object to be painted may warp, be tilted during drying, or If the paint is exposed to wind during drying, there is a problem in that the paint becomes partially uneven and twists, resulting in significant unevenness in the thickness of the paint film.

[0003] For this reason, conventional methods have been to shorten the curing time so that the unsaturated polyester resin paint dries in a short time, or to reduce the amount of unsaturated polyester resin paint applied each time and apply it several times. We try to prevent the paint from twisting by painting it separately.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, as in the former case, shortening the curing time of unsaturated polyester resin paints results in a shortened pot life, and as in the latter case, it is necessary to apply the paint several times. If the tasks were to be performed separately, there would be a problem that work efficiency would deteriorate.

[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and it is possible to shorten the curing time of unsaturated polyester resin paint and to perform painting with a uniform film thickness without the need for dividing the painting into several times. The purpose is to make it possible.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The coating method according to the present invention is characterized in that a condensing agent is applied to the surface of an object to be painted, and then an unsaturated polyester resin paint is applied thereon. The present invention will be explained in detail below. First, a condensing agent for polyester is applied to the surface of the object to be coated. As this condensing agent, a metal chelate type can be used, and when the condensing agent is in powder form, it is used after being dissolved in a solvent. The amount of the condensing agent applied is not particularly limited. Next, before the condensing agent dries, an unsaturated polyester resin paint is applied onto the surface of the object to be coated. Application can be carried out using any device such as a roll coater, flow coater, or spray gun. The coating can be applied thickly, but it is preferable to set the coating amount to 400 g/m2 or less.

When an unsaturated polyester resin paint is applied on top of a condensing agent, the viscosity of the unsaturated polyester resin paint is instantly increased by the condensing agent. Therefore, when applying a thick coat of unsaturated polyester resin paint, even if the painted surface of the object is warped or the painted surface is tilted during drying, the unsaturated polyester resin paint will not flow. It is possible to prevent the occurrence of twisting of the paint, which causes the paint to be partially uneven on the painted surface, and to prevent uneven thickness of the paint film.

EXAMPLES The present invention will now be illustrated by examples. Example: A 12 mm thick plywood board with a 3 mm thick oak surface board was used as the object to be painted, and the surface of the surface board was finished with a #240 sander. Co., Ltd.) was applied as an undercoat at a coating amount of 50 g/m2 using a natural roll coater to seal the area, and the coating was left overnight to dry at room temperature. Next, apply 10% thinner diluted solution of polyester condensing agent "Zeller" (manufactured by Cashew Paint Co., Ltd.) to the surface of the top plate at 25 g/m2 using a sponge roll coater.
It was applied in an amount of . Before the applied condensing agent dries, apply unsaturated polyester resin paint "#6" on top of it.

After the unsaturated polyester resin paint was applied in this way, it was left to stand overnight and dried on a shelf at room temperature. Here, a test (Test 1) was carried out in which a workpiece with a warped surface plate was dried with the workpiece held horizontally, and a test with a warped faceboard was carried out with the workpiece held horizontally. A test in which drying is performed (Test 2), a test in which the surface plate is dried with the object to be painted tilted and the surface plate is not warped (Test 3), a test in which the object to be painted in which the surface plate is not warped is dried. A test (Test 4) was conducted in which the test pieces were dried while being held horizontally and exposed to wind.

Comparative Example An unsaturated polyester resin paint was applied at a coating weight of 300 g/m 2 in the same manner as in the above example except that no condensing agent was applied. This was then dried in the same manner as in Tests 1 to 4 above. In Examples and Comparative Examples, variations in the thickness of coating films of painted objects obtained by drying by the methods of Tests 1 to 4 were measured. The results are shown in Table 1.

As can be seen from the results in Table 1, by applying a condensing agent as in the example, even when a warped object is used (Test 2), the object to be painted is tilted. It was confirmed that it is possible to suppress the twisting of the paint and prevent variations in the thickness of the paint film, whether it is dried (Test 3) or by blowing air on the object to be painted (Test 4). Effects of the Invention As described above, in the present invention, a condensing agent is applied to the surface of the object to be coated, and then an unsaturated polyester resin paint is applied on top of the condensing agent. When applying thick coats of unsaturated polyester resin paint, the unsaturated polyester resin paint will flow even if the painted surface is warped or the painted surface is tilted during drying. This method eliminates the need to shorten the curing time of unsaturated polyester resin paints or apply multiple coats, and prevents the occurrence of paint twisting that causes the paint to be partially uneven on the painted surface. This can prevent the occurrence of uneven thickness in the coating film.
