Abstract

PURPOSE:To grasp ordinary line quality by transmitting/receiving a test pattern data decided in advance when there is no normal data, comparing the received test pattern with a correct answer value and storing error information. CONSTITUTION:When it is detected there is no normal data, a transmission test instruction is transmitted to an information processor 1' and the device 1' decodes this instruction, returns test mode confirmation to an information processor 1 and transmits a reception test mode setting instruction to a communication equipment 2'. The communication equipment 2' transmits the test pattern to the equipment 2'. The equipment 2' compares the received test pattern with the stored test pattern and reports the number of non-coincident bits to the device 1' as the tested result. The device 1' transmits the tested result reported from the equipment 2' to the device 1 as tested result information. When the tested result information is received, the device 1 records the information as a line state after adding time data.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The conventional line testing method described above is inefficient because the line cable must be removed and connected to the measuring device, and normal data cannot be sent and received during that time. There were drawbacks, and an additional drawback was that the quality of the line on a daily basis could not be ascertained.

[Means for Solving the Problems] A first invention is a method for checking line quality of a communication line used in an online system, in which a testing node uses the communication line when there is no job data to be transmitted or received via the communication line. The line test data predetermined by the system is transmitted via the transmission line at the opposite node side, and the line test data transmitted to the opposite node side is compared with the correct value prepared in advance on the opposite node side. The number of error bits obtained as a comparison result is returned, the returned number of error bits is counted and accumulated, and then the line test data is transmitted from the opposite node side via a receiving line in the communication line. The method is characterized in that the line test data obtained in advance is compared with a correct value prepared in advance, and the number of error bits obtained as a result of the comparison is counted and accumulated.
