Abstract

PURPOSE:To cut the flat tube without accompanying a fine powder like chip, by arranging a holding member which holds the outer peripheral face of a flat tube in the state of almost adhesion at the part excluding the cutting place thereof and which is provided with the guide pass in which a cutting edge member is inserted from one end of the outer peripheral face of the flat tube over to the other end and the discharging pass from which a chip is discharged. CONSTITUTION:A guide pass 23 is aligned to the specified length position with a flat tube 3 being inserted into the penetration pass of a holding member 2, holding members 2a, 2b are clamped and the flat tube 3 is fixed with its adhesion. Then a cutting edge member 1 is inserted along the guide pass 23 and pressed to the other end from one end in the main axis direction of the flat tube 3, the flat tube 3 is cut with its being sheared between the blade 11 formed at the slope side of the cutting edge member 1 and the edge of a flat tube penetrating pass 21. The chip equivalent to the blade thickness formed in this process is cut off with its becoming in two small pieces and discharged downward via a discharging pass 25.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, flat tubes used in heat exchangers and the like are cut with various cutting tools. However, when cutting with a saw blade, fine powder chips are generated and enter the flat tube, which requires time and effort to remove. On the other hand, if a slit is formed on the outer surface of the flat tube and then the slit is bent and cut, fine powder chips will not be generated, but the number of cutting steps will increase, resulting in a decrease in productivity. In addition, there was a problem that the flat tube was deformed during shearing cutting.

[Operation] Since the cutting tool of the present invention has the above configuration,
The holding member holds the flat tube in substantially intimate contact with the flat tube, and in this state, the cutting blade member is inserted into the guide path and pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the flat tube to cut the flat tube. During this cutting process, the chips are separated into two small pieces, which are removed through a discharge channel.

The cutting blade member 1 (FIG. 1) has a V-shape,
Blades 11 are formed on both inclined sides, and chips in the middle of cutting are guided along these inclined sides. Here, the angle θ (FIG. 1) between the blades 11 is preferably in the range of 20° to 40° due to strength constraints and smooth guidance of chips.

The holding member 2 (FIG. 2) has a split structure so that a through passage 21 through which the porous flat tube 3 is inserted can be brought into close contact with the flat tube. The through passage 21 has a cross-sectional shape that substantially matches the outer shape of the flat tube 3 in a clamped state, and grips the outer circumferential surface of the flat tube 3 in a nearly intimate state except for the cut portion. Also, the upper surface 22 of the holding member 2
A guide path 23 into which the cutting blade member 1 is inserted is formed downward, that is, from one end to the other end in the long diameter direction of the flat tube 3, and a chip discharge path 25 is formed from below this guide path 23 to the lower surface 24. has been done.

The flat tube 3 is cut by a cutting tool consisting of a cutting blade member 1 and a holding member 2 in the following manner. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, the flat tube 3 is inserted into the through passage 21 of the holding member 2, and the guide passage 23 is aligned at a predetermined length position.
Clamp the holding members 2a and 2b to tightly fix the flat tube,
Next, when the cutting blade member 1 is inserted along the guide path 23 and pressed from one end of the flat tube 3 in the long diameter direction to the other end, the flat tube 3 is connected to the blade 11 formed on the inclined side of the cutting blade member 1. It is sheared and cut between the edges of the pipe passageway 21. The chips corresponding to the blade thickness t generated in this process are cut off into two small pieces as shown in FIG. 4, and are discharged downward through the discharge path 25. Therefore, since the cutting tool of this embodiment shears the flat tube 3 by pressing the cutting blade member 1, no fine powder chips are generated and the inside of the flat tube 3 is kept clean. In addition, the outer circumferential surface of the flat tube 3 is covered by the holding member 2 except for the cut portion.
Since the flat tube 3 is held almost tightly by the flat tube 3, the flat tube 3 will not be deformed even if it is pressed by the cutting blade member 1.
