程とをくり返し行う土砂圧送ポンプを設置し、切
羽側から掘進機本体の外周と地山との間の泥土通
路を通して泥土取込口に移送された泥土を前記土
砂圧送ポンプにより後方へ排土するようにした小
口径掘進機において、泥土取込口近傍の掘進機本
体の外周部に膨脹収縮可能な密閉袋を装着し、前
記土砂圧送ポンプの吸込工程では前記密閉袋を流
体の注入により膨脹させ、前記土砂圧送ポンプの
密封工程および圧送工程では前記密閉袋を流体の
排出により収縮させるように前記土砂圧送ポンプ
の各工程と関連して作動する流体注入・排出手段
を備えたことを特徴とする小口径掘進機。
