2. Description of the Related Art Former factory sites are often contaminated with harmful substances such as cyanide compounds, hexavalent chromium compounds, lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic. These harmful substances permeate into the groundwater and contaminate the groundwater, so they must be removed. Conventionally, the conventional methods of removing these harmful substances are to drain the contaminated soil and fill it with non-contaminated soil, and then to replace the contaminated soil with soil. The waste is transported by truck or the like to a primary treatment site, where it undergoes detoxification treatment such as being filled with concrete or incinerated, and then transported to a secondary treatment site, such as a landfill, where it is buried.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, when using the above-mentioned conventional method, if the contaminated land is the site of a factory, an extremely large amount of contaminated soil must be removed, and a great deal of labor and effort is required to remove and replace the soil. In addition to requiring a lot of man-hours, there is a problem in that the cost of transportation by trucks and the like is enormous, which increases costs. Another problem is that there is currently a shortage of landfill sites, making it difficult to carry out landfill treatment. Furthermore, there is also the problem that harmful substances are leached out in such landfill treatment, which tends to cause secondary pollution.

According to claim 1, when cleaning water is sprayed over contaminated soil, the cleaning water permeates into the contaminated soil, dissolves harmful substances, flows down, and accumulates on the sheet. The cleaning water contaminated with harmful substances is pumped up through a pipe and flows into a water treatment layer to remove harmful substances. The washed water, from which harmful substances have been removed, is sprayed over the contaminated soil again and permeates downward. By repeating this operation, harmful substances in the contaminated soil are gradually removed and the contaminated soil can be washed. In claim 2, groundwater is pumped up by a pump and flows into a water treatment tank,
After removing harmful substances, it is sprayed onto contaminated soil as washing water. The washing water penetrates into the contaminated soil, dissolves harmful substances, and flows down into the groundwater. By repeating this operation, the harmful substances in the contaminated soil are gradually reduced, and the contaminated soil can be washed. Since the groundwater is separated by partition walls, cleaning water contaminated with harmful substances will not flow into the groundwater in non-contaminated areas, and there is no risk of contamination spreading.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. First, as shown in FIG. 1, a hole 10 is formed by digging up contaminated soil at a location to be cleaned in a site contaminated by harmful substances such as a former factory site. The depth of the hole 10 is of course the depth of the contaminated soil to be cleaned. Next, as shown in FIG. 2, the inner wall 13 of the hole 10 is covered with a partition wall 14. The partition wall 14 can be easily formed by joining together steel sheet piles 15, for example, as shown in FIG. Note that the joints between the steel sheet piles 15 are sealed to the extent that water does not leak. Also hole 1
0 is covered with a water-proof sheet 12 such as a vinyl sheet. Furthermore, a pipe 16 for drawing water is erected approximately in the center of the hole 10, and then the contaminated soil dug up is backfilled into the hole 10, including the area around the pipe 16. Note that a perforated cylinder 17 or the like may be attached to the lower end of the pipe to prevent the pipe from being blocked by earth and sand. The upper end of the pipe should protrude above the backfilled contaminated soil. A pump 18 is connected to the pipe 16,
The water pumped up by the pump 18 is made to flow into a separately installed water treatment tank 19.

After preparing as described above, the contaminated soil is purified as follows. First, wash water is sprayed over the contaminated soil. As a result, the cleaning water permeates into the contaminated soil, dissolves harmful substances in the contaminated soil, flows downward, and accumulates on the sheet 12. The washing water is supplied continuously or intermittently as appropriate. When the cleaning water accumulates on the sheet 12, the pump 18 is activated and the cleaning water is transferred to the pipe 1.
6 and flows into the water treatment tank 19. In the water treatment tank 19, water is treated by a known method to remove harmful substances from the washing water. The cleaning water from which harmful substances have been removed is sprayed again onto the contaminated soil from the water treatment tank 19, and this process is repeated thereafter. In this way, harmful substances in the contaminated soil are dissolved in the washing water and removed in the water treatment tank 19, so that they are gradually reduced and the contaminated soil can be washed. Although the period of this treatment varies depending on the degree of soil contamination, cleaning can be completed in about 1 to 2 weeks. The water from which harmful substances have been removed may be discharged as is, but since a large amount of water will be used, it is better to recycle it as described above. Further, in the above example, the inner wall of the hole 10 is covered with the partition wall 14, but the hole 1
If 0 is formed over a wide area including contaminated areas,
Even if the inner wall of the hole 10 is not necessarily covered with a partition, there is no risk that the cleaning water containing harmful substances will penetrate to the outside. The harmful substances that can be removed by this example are substances that dissolve in water, and most of the harmful substances such as cyanide, hexavalent chromium, lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, fluorine, copper, and zinc, or single substances, can be removed. I can do it.

FIG. 5 shows another embodiment. This example shows an example where groundwater is high. If groundwater is high, digging a hole as in the above example would cause the groundwater to rise, so in this example, instead of digging a hole, steel sheet piles 1 were built directly around the contaminated area.
5 is driven into the ground to form the partition wall 14. in this case,
The lower end of the partition wall 14 penetrates into the ground below the groundwater, and the partition wall 14 partitions the groundwater between a contaminated area and a non-contaminated area. A pipe 16 for pumping up washing water is inserted into the contaminated soil surrounded by the partition wall 14, and the pipe 16
so that the lower end of the is located in the groundwater. The pump 18 is connected to the pipe 16 in the same manner as above, and the water treatment tank 1 is also connected to the pipe 16.
Connect with 9.

[0010] After preparation as described above, purification treatment is carried out as follows. That is, the pump 18 is activated to pump up groundwater, which flows into the water purification tank 19 where harmful substances are removed by a known method. The water from which harmful substances have been removed is used as washing water and is sprayed over the contaminated soil, allowing it to penetrate into the contaminated soil, dissolving the harmful substances, and allowing them to flow down into the groundwater. By continuously repeating this process for a predetermined period of time, harmful substances in the contaminated soil can be gradually removed and purification can be achieved. Since the underground water is partitioned by the partition wall 14, the cleaning water containing harmful substances hardly flows into the ground water outside the partition wall 14, and the purification process can be carried out efficiently. If there is insufficient washing water from groundwater alone, additional washing water will be supplied from outside. Although the present invention has been variously explained above with reference to preferred embodiments, the present invention is not limited to these embodiments, and it goes without saying that many modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. .

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, according to the present invention, contaminated soil can be washed on site in a contaminated area, so there is no need to remove soil or transport soil as in the past, which significantly reduces labor and cost. It is possible to achieve significant reductions. In addition, harmful substances are concentrated and removed,
It is easy to transport and dispose of, and even if it is detoxified and landfilled, secondary pollution due to elution can be prevented as much as possible.
