Furthermore, instead of reduction firing, oxidation firing is also carried out by mixing a large amount of white or bluish-white pigment with the raw material.

In particular, iron is always contained in raw materials, and even a trace amount causes red to yellow coloring, making it difficult to obtain a completely white color.

→Reduction reaction of FeO+1/2O 2 begins to occur. (The reaction rate varies depending on the atmosphere and temperature, but in the case of oxidation firing, the reaction is much slower than in reduction firing.) In addition, this reduced iron is absorbed by approximately 1000% of the cooling process.
Reoxidized in the range ~800℃. i.e. FeO+1/2
The reaction O 2 →Fe 2 O 3 proceeds. (In addition,
The reaction rate of this reaction varies depending on the atmosphere and cooling rate, but in the case of oxidation firing, especially when gradual cooling is performed, the reaction rate is higher than that of reduction firing.
Eventually it becomes mostly Fe 3+ . ) The coloring differs depending on the Fe 2+ /Fe 3+ of the iron content, but
Generally, when Fe 3+ is high, the color becomes yellow or red.
In normal oxidation firing, Fe 2+ /Fe 3+ becomes smaller than 0.05, resulting in a yellow or red color. In reduction firing, Fe 2+ /Fe 3+ becomes greater than 0.10, and when using raw materials with low iron content (for example, raw materials with an iron content of less than 1% of the total raw material), the color changes from white to pale yellow-white. Ceramics commonly referred to as white porcelain or celadon are obtained.

However, reduction firing has poor energy efficiency, and it is difficult to control the firing conditions, so it is difficult to obtain white porcelain style ceramics with a uniform color. Furthermore, in the method of using a large amount of white to pale blue pigment and performing oxidation firing, the cost of the pigment increases, resulting in a significant increase in cost.

Since the wollastonite contains the above amount and the spaces between the wollastonite grains are filled with a translucent glass phase, the product becomes a deep white product. Furthermore, the white porcelain style ceramics of the present invention can also be produced by oxidation firing,
Therefore, it is energy efficient and inexpensive, and the atmosphere can be easily controlled and manufacturing is easy.

The content of Fe 2 O 3 is 1% or less, preferably 0.7% or less, and white wollastonite is obtained even after oxidation firing. Note that wollastonite has physical properties equivalent to or better than other ceramics in terms of strength, heat resistance, and abrasion resistance, and improves the mechanical and thermal properties of the white porcelain style ceramic of the present invention.

If wollastonite is less than 70% and is not considered as a main constituent phase, deep white porcelain style ceramics cannot be obtained and there is a problem that strength etc. are insufficient. 埋められた白磁風セラミツクスが得られる。 When manufacturing the white porcelain style ceramics of the present invention,
The above raw materials are weighed and thoroughly ground and mixed using, for example, a ball mill. Wet grinding is preferred in this case. In this pulverization and mixing step, it is sufficient that the particles are pulverized and mixed uniformly throughout, and the particle shape of the pulverized material is not particularly limited. If wet pulverization is performed, drying is then performed to adjust the moisture content. When producing the white porcelain style ceramics of the present invention, in order to increase the bulk density of the molded product, the moisture content is set to 5 to 30% on the outside. (For example, in the case of a formulation [90% natural wollastonite + 10% fritto], the moisture content is preferably 5 to 10%, and in the case of a formulation [90% calcium silicate hydrate + 10% fritto], The moisture content is preferably 12 to 30%.) Also,
A water-soluble binder such as polyvinyl alcohol is added to this water (the amount of this binder added is preferably about 0.2 to 2.0% based on the solid part) to improve moldability and increase the strength of the molded product. is preferable. For example, the clay obtained in this way is
It is molded at a pressure of 500Kg/ cm2 , dried and fired.
This firing is performed at a temperature of about 800 to 1400°C, and oxidation firing may be used as described above. Of course, reduction firing may be performed in the present invention, but oxidation firing simplifies firing management and lowers firing costs. In addition, when a material that produces wollastonite by firing is used as a raw material, it is necessary to raise the firing temperature to the wollastonite production temperature depending on the raw material used. Through this firing,
A white porcelain style ceramic is obtained in which the spaces between the wollastonite grains are filled with a translucent glass phase.
