従来より視覚機能が低下した角膜の治療方法として、角
膜の移植、置換が行われており、その際の代用する角膜
としてはアイバンクなどから、供給される、他人の角膜
を移植したり樹脂や金属からなる、人工角膜が利用され
ていた。これら人工角膜は第1図及び第2図に示す如く

ことによって、接合部分にすき間か生じてしまい、それ
により内部の気密性か保たれず固定後、体液が外部へ浸
出したり、また感染症を引き起こす原因どなる恐れがあ
った。又周辺部を複雑な形状にすることは製造か難しい
