Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the whole coating efficiency by coating the recess-shaped part of material to be coated with primer having the same series color as topcoating paint. CONSTITUTION:A pretreated number W is carried to a primer coating station S1 and rough-coated in a primer rough-coating stage 2. Then the rough-coated bumper W is finish-coated with the same urethane-based primer as the case in a primer finish coating stage 3. The recess-shaped parts w1, w1, w1 such as a lamp fitting hole and a grille of the finish-coated bumper W are touch-up- coated with the urethane-based primer having the same series color as topcoating paint in a primer touch-up coating stage 4 in the primer coating station S1. Lacks of hiding generated in the respective recess-shaped parts w1 are repaired and primer coating is completed. Thereafter this bumper W is rough-coated in a rough-topcoating stage 5. Then the rough-coated bumper W is finish-coated in a finish-topcoating stage 6 and topcoating is completed. The whole coating efficiency is enhanced.

As disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 232880, it is common practice to apply a primer coating at a primer coating station to improve adhesion with a topcoat paint, and then apply a topcoat at a topcoat coating station.

By the way, when the object to be coated is, for example, a bumper of a vehicle such as an automobile, the bumper has a recessed portion such as a lamp mounting hole or a grille. And, having such a concave shape part,
<When painting an object to be coated, such as a pump, so-called splats (painting unevenness) occur, where the paint sufficiently spreads over the concave portions. Therefore, in general, as shown in Figure 3,
First, in a pretreatment step a, the object to be coated is steam-cleaned for the purpose of degreasing, etc. Next, this pretreated object to be coated is transported to primer coating station b, and primer rough spraying step C
After rough spraying, finish spraying and primer coating are performed in primer finish spraying step d.

After that, this primer-coated object is transported to the topcoat painting station e, where it is rough-sprayed in the topcoat rough-spraying step f, finished-sprayed in the topcoat finish-spraying step g, and then dented in the topcoat pick-up step. Pick up the shaped parts, repair the scratches, and finish the top coat. Thereafter, the paint on the coated object is baked in step 1.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, in the above conventional painting method, due to the nature of the painting,
The time required at the topcoat painting station e is longer than that at the primer painting station b, and since it takes a long time to repair the scratches in the topcoat pick-up process, the difference in the time required between the two painting stations becomes large. Due to the difference in time required, the primer-coated object cannot be transported to the top-coating station e, and must be kept waiting at the primer-coating station b. This waiting time becomes loss time and reduces the overall coating efficiency. There was a problem that the temperature decreased.

The present invention has been made in view of the above, and its purpose is to perform a pick-up process at the primer coating station to repair the scratches that occur on the concave portions of the object to be coated. The objective is to minimize the difference in time required at the rigging station and improve the overall coating efficiency.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, the solution of the present invention is to continuously convey the object to be coated to a primer coating station and a topcoat coating station, and to apply the coating at each coating station. In the method, in the final primer coating step at the primer coating station, the concave portions of the object to be coated are coated with a primer of a color similar to that of the top coat.

(Function) With the above configuration, in the method of the present invention, the object to be coated can be coated in the final primer coating step at the primer coating station.
After the concave portion is painted with a primer of the same color as the top coat, it is continuously conveyed to a top coat station where it is coated with a top coat.

This means that the time required at the top coating station is reduced by the removal of the topcoat pick-up process, while the time required at the primer application station is increased by the amount that the primer pick-up process is provided. The time differences at the painting stations are kept as small as possible, i.e. waiting times at the primer painting stations are shortened and lost times are eliminated as much as possible;
The aim is to improve overall painting efficiency.

(実施例) 以下、本発明の実施例を図面に基づいて説明する。(Example) Embodiments of the present invention will be described below based on the drawings.

Next, this roughly blown bumper W is finished blown with a urethane primer similar to that described above in a primer finishing step 3. Thereafter, as a feature of the present invention, concave portions Wl, W1, wl such as lamp mounting holes and grilles of the finished blown bumper W are coated in a primer blown process as a final primer coating process at the primer coating station S. In step 4, the same urethane-based primer as in the above case and a similar color to the top coat paint is used to pick up and spray to repair the scratches that have occurred in each of the concave portions w1,
Finish painting the primer. Thereafter, this primer-coated bumper W is continuously carried into the top coating station>-S, and is rough-sprayed in the top-coating rough-spraying step 5. The top coat used at this time is, for example, a mixture of polyester paint and acrylic paint.
