Decorative paper is widely used as interior materials, wrapping paper, etc., and its manufacturing methods include (1) printing figures, patterns, etc. on plain paper, (2) pasting a film with a pattern on the paper, (3) A method in which colored pulp fibers are added to the paper during the papermaking process, and (4) A method in which colored aluminum foil is added to the paper are known. However, methods (1) and (2) require printing again after paper making, which is economically disadvantageous. In method (3), it is difficult to identify the shapes of the various patterns on the decorative paper, and in method (4), the colored pulp fibers float on the surface of the paper. Since it floats, it has the disadvantage of being easy to peel off. The present inventors completed the present invention as a result of conducting research on a method for manufacturing decorative paper.

The present invention involves making multiple layers of paper with a basis weight of 10 to 100 g/m 2 mainly composed of wet paper-like cellulose fibers using a wet paper-making method. A method for producing decorative paper, which comprises inserting and interposing a water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol film (hereinafter referred to as water-soluble film) between paper layers, printed with sexually colored ink and having a thickness of 30 to 50 μm, followed by compression and drying. be. The water-soluble film is preferably transparent or white, but may be colored. Examples of water-resistant colored inks for printing letters, symbols, patterns, designs, etc. on water-soluble films include water-resistant inks commonly used for offset, gravure, letterpress, and the like.

In carrying out the present invention, first, a plurality of wet paper-like paper layers containing cellulose fibers as a main component are formed from a pre-prepared paper stock liquid by a wet paper-making method. Wet paper making methods include fourdrinier paper machines,
It may be machine-made using a cylinder paper machine or the like, or it may be hand-made.

Before combining these wet paper layers, a water-soluble film with decorative patterns, letters, etc. printed thereon is inserted between the paper layers. Water-soluble films do not dissolve immediately in cold water; they dissolve over time (depending on the temperature), so a certain amount of tension is applied between the paper layers that are continuously running at high speeds, such as in machine papermaking. can be inserted.

Next, the laminated paper is compressed and dehydrated and then dried to obtain the desired decorative paper. The water-soluble film swells during the combining and compression process, and then partially or completely dissolves, leaving the printed pattern, characters, etc. intact.

An example in which a water-soluble film is inserted between paper layers will be explained with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is an enlarged vertical cross-sectional view when a water-soluble film is inserted during two-layer papermaking, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged longitudinal cross-sectional view when a water-soluble film is inserted during three-layer papermaking. A water-soluble film 6 having printed portions 4 and 5 is inserted between the paper layers 1, 2, and 2 or between each of the paper layers 1, 2, and 3. FIG. 2 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view of a decorative paper obtained by compressing and drying this laminated paper, and shows that the water-soluble film has disappeared.
This indicates the state in which the pattern or characters on the printed part remain. When paper layers with a low basis weight are used as paper layer 1 and paper layer 2, the same pattern can be seen on both sides of the decorative paper, as in double-sided printing. In the case of three-layer papermaking, if water-soluble films 6 with different patterns in the printed parts 4 and 5 are used, a decorative paper with different appearances on the front and back sides can be obtained.

According to the method of the present invention, since decorative paper can be produced by a wet papermaking method, a printing process is not necessary, and decorative paper can be obtained economically. In addition, since decorative printing is applied between the paper layers, it feels natural to handle, and the printed material does not peel off even when rubbed.Since water-resistant ink is used, decorative patterns such as more precise patterns and figures can be created. The original shape remains, and the water-soluble film swells, dissolves, and disappears, so there is no unevenness on the front or back sides of the paper. Note that when a water-insoluble film is interposed between paper layers, separation occurs between the paper layers, but when a water-soluble film is used, the paper layers do not separate.

Example 1 50 parts by weight of softwood kraft pulp, 50 parts by weight of hardwood kraft pulp, 20 parts by weight of heavy calcium carbonate, 0.2 parts by weight of alkyl ketene dimeride (Haakon 40C manufactured by Tsukuha Kyures Co., Ltd., solid content concentration 15.5%), and cationic starch ( A slurry was prepared by blending Kate 102L (manufactured by Oji National Co., Ltd.). Using a cylinder paper machine that can combine two layers of this slurry, the first paper layer and the second paper layer each have a weight of 40g/
m2 , and immediately before combining both wet paper layers, a 35 μm thick water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol film, on which a blue polka dot pattern was printed with oil-based ink, was continuously moved. A decorative paper was produced by inserting the paper between the first and second paper layers, interposing it, compressing it, and drying it. A clear polka dot pattern could be seen on both sides of the obtained decorative paper.

Example 2 Using a cylinder paper machine capable of combining three layers, the slurry of Example 1 was mixed at 10 g/m 2 for the first paper layer and 40 g/m 2 for the second and third paper layers. Paper is made so that the thickness of the paper is printed in advance with oil-based ink just before combining these paper layers.
A 35 μm water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol film was inserted between the first and second paper layers that were continuously running, interposed, compressed, and dried to produce decorative paper. In the obtained decorative paper, a clear pattern could be seen only from the front side of the paper.

Example 3 Using a cylinder paper machine capable of forming three layers, the slurry of Example 1 was prepared at 10 g/m 2 for the first paper layer, 70 g/m 2 for the second paper layer, and 70 g/m 2 for the third paper layer. water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol, which is made into paper with a weight of 10 g/m 2 and has different designs printed in advance between the first paper layer and the second paper layer and between the second paper layer and the third paper layer. Insert the film in the same manner as in Example 1, interpose it, compress it,
Decorative paper was produced through a drying process. The decorative paper obtained had different designs on the front and back sides.
