Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the emission of a high level of noise during the printing operation of a print head by providing springs for holding at least one paper looseness preventing roller against a platen in the print head periphery during printing. CONSTITUTION:A paper looseness preventing roller 3 is urged by a roller pressing spring 4 against a platen during printing in order to prevent the printing paper 2 wound around a platen 1 from coming loose therefrom in the periphery of a print head 5. A carriage 6 retaining thereon the print head 5, the paper looseness preventing roller 3 and the roller pressing spring 4 moves in the carriage moving direction 7 during printing. Upon the start of a new line, a roller releasing solenoid 8 is energized, so that the paper looseness preventing roller 3 is attracted in the roller releasing direction 9 to be moved away.
