て乗かご4を昇降方向に案内している。この乗か
ご4は主ロープ6により吊られ、この主ロープ6
は昇降路壁に取付けたガイドプーリ7に巻掛けて
昇降路底部に設置した駆動装置8に巻付けられて
いる。この駆動装置8は前記主ロープ6を巻付け
る巻胴9と、この巻胴9を減速装置10を介して
駆動する駆動用電動機11と、この駆動電動機1
1と前記減速装置10間の回転軸の周囲に配置し
た制動装置12とから構成されている。

ものがあるが、これは単にエレベーターの運転を
自動的に停止させるものにすぎず、抜本的な対策
とは云い難い。

ので、少しの浸水で電動機が冠水することにな
る。したがつて、従従に比べて本実施例の駆動装
置は浸水による冠水の被害は少なくなり、浸水に
よるエレベーターの頻繁なる運行停止を低減する
ことができる。
