(Conventional technology) Generally, engines installed in industrial machines are
As disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application No. 56-139821, in many cases, the exhaust pipe is installed upwards from the exhaust manifold, and the silencer is installed above the engine in a position directly exposed to wind and rain.
In addition, most piping from the exhaust manifold to the silencer is built independently, and measures against wind and rain are often inadequate, and there are many cases where rainwater flows into the engine through the exhaust pipe. This was one of the causes of engine damage and reduced engine performance. In order to improve this problem, it has been proposed to provide a drain hole at the bottom of the exhaust manifold, but while this method achieves the effect of protecting the engine by draining rainwater that has entered the exhaust manifold from the drain hole, Exhaust gas from the engine flows into the engine room, increasing noise, and there are other problems such as carbon, dirt, etc. clogging the drain holes.

(Problems that the invention attempts to solve) Therefore, this invention is a solution to the above-mentioned conventional problems. It reliably prevents rainwater from entering the engine, and also prevents exhaust gas from flowing into the engine. The aim is to obtain a device that can prevent the outflow of water, noise, etc.

(Means for solving the problem) As a means to achieve this, this invention connects an exhaust pipe upward to the exhaust manifold installed in the engine, and also connects the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold directly below the exhaust pipe mounting part. A water reservoir chamber without a water draining device is formed on the bottom surface, and ribs are formed on the bottom surface of the water reservoir chamber to increase the surface area.

An exhaust manifold 2 is attached to the side of the engine 1, and the exhaust manifold 2 has a communication port 3 that communicates with the exhaust port of each cylinder, and a connection port that has a flange 4 connected to an exhaust pipe 7 on the upper surface of one side. 5 is bored, and a recessed water reservoir chamber 6 is further formed on the bottom surface directly below the connecting port 5. The exhaust pipe 7 is connected to the flange 4 and stands above the connection port 5,

Since it is configured like this, rain cup 1
Rainwater that has entered the exhaust manifold 2 through the exhaust pipe 7 from the exhaust pipe 7 drips from the connection port 5 into the water storage chamber 6 directly below and is collected in the water storage chamber 6. However, the rainwater that has accumulated in the water storage chamber 6 is heated from the outside by radiant heat from the engine as well as high-temperature exhaust gas passing through the exhaust manifold 2 due to engine operation. It evaporates and becomes water vapor and is released into the atmosphere, which can reliably prevent rainwater from entering the engine.Furthermore, in order to promote the evaporation of accumulated rainwater, etc., a rib 11 is provided at the bottom of the water storage chamber 6. It is intended to provide

(Effects of the invention) As described above in detail with respect to the embodiment, this invention allows rainwater that enters through the exhaust pipe to be stored in the exhaust manifold placed just in front of the engine, thereby reliably preventing it from flowing into the engine. Because it is possible to
It is possible to prevent the function of the engine from being degraded or damaged. In addition, since the surface area of the bottom has been increased by forming ribs at the bottom of the water storage chamber, accumulated rainwater can be effectively evaporated as water vapor by the exhaust heat, so there is no need to provide a special drainage device such as a drainage hole. The water storage chamber can be formed into a sealed chamber without any problems, and there are various excellent effects such as no leakage of exhaust gas into the engine room and no risk of causing noise.
