Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate processing of a wire termination part and provide adaptability for flat cables of various structures by inserting an exposed conductor wire equipped with a specified frame made from a sheet into a connector in opened state, shutting a split member, and connecting the conductor and terminal when the connector is detained. CONSTITUTION:A frame 4 made from a sheet of electric insulative material is equipped in the middle with a window hole 41 wider than conductor wires 11a-11b and also with detent holes 43a, 43b at the two side edges 42a, 42b, and is adhered or welded to the termination part of a flat cable. When this is inserted to a split member 42 situated below a connector 2 followed by shutting of another split member 25 situated above, the conductor wires 11a-11d are electrically connected with terminals 31a-31d arranged inside of receptacles 22a-22d, and at the same time, the detent holes 43a, 43b are detained with projections 27a, 27b, and the fitting operation is done simply and certainly. Locking mechanisms 29 are engaged with one another, and the split members 24, 25 are put in the shut state. Disconnection is made by pushing the split member 25 toward the tip face, disengaging the locking mechanisms 29, and opening the split members.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, the terminal connection structure described in the above publication does not allow the conductor exposed at the end of the electric wire to come close to the electric wire insertion port of the connector when the conductor is inserted into the openable/closable connector and closed. The locking protrusions arranged in this manner connect the flat wire and the connector by engaging with the engagement holes formed between the conductors of the band-shaped insulator overlaid on one side of the exposed conductor wire.

In other words, it is necessary to form a holding hole at a predetermined position at the end of the strip-shaped insulator that supports the conductor while avoiding the conductor, so processing is extremely difficult if the intervals between the conductors installed in parallel are not sufficiently wide. It is. Therefore, for example, when adjacent conductors are close to each other, as in the case of a flat electric wire in which a plurality of conductor wires with insulating coatings are arranged in parallel and their sides are fixed together by adhesive or welding means, the conductor wires are placed in the gap between them. This method cannot be implemented if there is no place to form an engagement hole while avoiding this. Furthermore, when the flat wire includes a shielded wire as shown in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 63-191511, there is a concern that the electrostatic shielding ability will be reduced due to the formation of the engagement hole.

As described above, the flat electric wire connection structure shown in this embodiment has the engagement holes 4 formed on both sides 42 a and 42 b of the plate frame 4.
Locking protrusions 27a formed on the divided body 24 at 3a and 43b,
27b are engaged with each other, the flat electric! 1 and the connector 2 can be reliably connected to prevent the electric wire from coming off, and in particular, there is not enough room to form a direct engagement hole in the part of the coating layer 12 at the end of the flat electric wire l. It is extremely effective in some cases. In addition, the engaging holes 43a and 43b are formed on both sides 42a and 42b of the frame 4, which is separate from the flat electric wire 1, so there is no need to worry about damaging or cutting the conductors 11a and 11d. Can be formed without accompanying, for example, lead! There is no problem even if part or all of the lid is a shielded wire that has a shielding effect. Furthermore, each conducting wire 11a...lid is attached to the plate frame 4.
Since the plate frame 4 itself is constructed and fixed to the end side 44 in parallel to each other across the window hole 41, and the plate frame 4 itself is also fixed to the end of the coating layer 12, the guide a11a exposed through the coating layer 12. - The lids will not be bent by external forces applied during storage, transportation, or connection, resulting in uneven spacing between them, and can be connected to the connection terminals 31a, . . . 31d of the connector 2 very easily and reliably.

[Effects of the Invention] It goes without saying that the present invention having the above configuration can ensure the connection and prevent the wire from coming off. For example, even if there is a flat wire in which adjacent conductors are close to each other, it is extremely easy to process, and even if the flat wire includes a shield wire, the formation of the engagement hole improves the electrostatic shielding ability. There is no decline. Further, the frame body having the engagement holes can be peeled off to fix the exposed conducting wires at predetermined intervals, thereby making the connection with the connection terminals more reliable.

[Scope of Claims] A flat electric wire in which a plurality of conductive wires are arranged in parallel at predetermined intervals and whose ends are exposed by a predetermined length from the coating layer, and each of the conductive wires is provided inside a wire insertion opening opened at the tip surface. A terminal connection comprising a box-shaped connector in which a plurality of corresponding connection terminals are arranged in parallel at predetermined intervals, and each of the conductor ends is inserted into the electric wire insertion port and connected to each of the connection terminals, respectively. The flat electric wire has a plate frame at its end having engagement holes on both sides; and the connector has an insertion opening of the plate frame opening at a distal end side in line with the electric wire insertion opening. It consists of two split bodies that can be opened and closed along a plane that includes the electric wire insertion port and the plate frame insertion port, and that engages with the engagement hole at a predetermined position on the opposing surface of the split body. A pair of locking protrusions are provided that protrude to match; when the end portions of the respective conductive wires are inserted between the divided bodies, the locking protrusions engage with the engagement holes and the respective conductive wires are connected to each other. A terminal connection structure for a flat electric wire, characterized in that it is connected to a connection terminal.
