Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by a method wherein is sensing of a lack of hot water in a boiler, each of a remained hot water volume sensor and a hot water temperature sensor in the boiler has the same kind of common sensor. CONSTITUTION:The same kind of common temperature sensing sensors 4 composed of thermistors are disposed at a plurality of water level positions including a part near a lower electrical heater 2 within a boiler 1. Since these sensors 4 measure a hot water temperature within the boiler 1, they may be used for a boiling control and a sensing of an amount of remained hot water within the boiler 1. That is, 'a completion of boiling' is judged at a stage in which an output of the lower-most thermistor reaches a predetermined boiling-up temperature, and when an output from each of the terminators 4 is 50 deg.C or lower, it is judged that the water to be heated at that water level is still in 'water' state and then an amount of remained hot water is determined.

In the can body 1, there is a hot water temperature detection sensor 4 for boiling control to a preset temperature, or a plurality of residual water detectors for detecting the amount of remaining hot water in the can body 1, in the vicinity of the heater 2. Sensors 5 are arranged at a plurality of water level positions within the can body 1.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) However, in the conventional example as described above, two different types of sensors are used to detect the hot water temperature and the amount of remaining hot water, so there is a problem with the component parts. There were many types, and a large number of pieces were required.

[Means for Solving the 8 Problems] Therefore, in the present invention, regarding the detection of the hot water shortage state in the can of an electric water heater, each sensor for detecting the amount of hot water remaining in the can and for detecting the temperature of hot water in the can is provided. The objective is to be achieved by using common sensors of the same type.

(Configuration) The feature of this embodiment is that the same type of common temperature detection sensor consisting of a thermistor is installed at multiple water level positions (4 on the ward side) including near the electric heater 2 at the bottom in the tank (2 tanks). This is due to the fact that 4 was installed.

(Function) Since these sensors 4 all measure the temperature of hot water in the can body 1, they can be used for both boiling control and detection of the amount of hot water remaining in the can body 1. In other words, "boiling is complete" when the output of the lowest thermistor reaches the predetermined boiling temperature.
and 11, and when the output from each thermistor 4 is less than 50℃, the hot water at that water level or "water" (
Since the amount of hot water remaining can be determined by determining that the temperature is insufficient for hot water supply, the types/total number of sensors can be reduced.

(Other Embodiments) In this embodiment, an example in which a thermistor is used as this type of temperature detection sensor has been described, but it goes without saying that other types of temperature sensors may be used.
