The bearing 12 of this sink roll 5 is made of Ni-C
Sliding bearings and rolling bearings made of materials such as r-containing steel, metal carbides, and even ceramics are used, but since they are all used in high-temperature molten metal baths, they do not require the use of lubricants such as oil. However, in order to prevent vibrations and poor rotation due to wear, maintenance must be performed by replacing the bearings periodically (on a continuous hot-dip galvanizing line, approximately once a week).

Figure 3(a) to Figure 3[d] are model diagrams for considering the situation of the sink roll, turndown roll, and steel strip when the sink roll is installed at an angle with a shoe as described above. 3(a) and 3 et al.), the rotation axis of the sink roll 5 is arranged to be inclined with respect to the horizontal plane, and the steel strip is attached to the sink roll 5 and the turndown roll 13. FIG. 3 is a schematic side view and a schematic cross-sectional view, respectively, showing the positional relationship between the sink roll 5, the turndown roll 13, and the steel strip 2, and the traveling direction of the steel strip 2 when the steel strip 2 is conveyed at an angle. First, in the conventionally used hot-dip metal plating apparatus shown in FIGS. 3(C) and 3(B), the steel strip 2 circulating around the sink roll 5 is used to restrict the gas flow of the molten metal plating. By principle, it must be transported vertically upwards. Therefore, Fig. 3(a) and Fig. 3 et al.)
As shown in the figure, even when the sink roll 5 is installed obliquely with respect to the horizontal direction, the steel strip 2 that has passed through the sink roll 5 must be conveyed vertically upward.

However, as is clear from FIG. 3(a) and FIG. 3(b), the rope rope 2 that has passed through the sink roll 5 installed obliquely with respect to the horizontal direction is Therefore, the conveyance direction changes. Therefore, if the hot-dip metal plating equipment is manufactured in this way, the copper strip being conveyed will be "ri" when looked down from above on the upstream side of the turndown roll and the downstream side of the sink roll of the hot-dip metal plating equipment. This will result in a curved shape.

That is, as shown in FIG. 3(a) and FIG. 3(b),
The arrangement of the sink roll 5 and turndown roll 13 allows the sink roll bearing to be installed outside the plating tank, which reduces wear on the sink roll bearing, but there are some problems when applying it to existing equipment. We found that.

Therefore, as a result of further studies, the inventors of the present invention found that, instead of using only the inclined sink roll, the above-mentioned transport It was discovered that the change in direction can be compensated for, making it easy to apply to existing equipment.

That is, as a specific means for installing the bearing outside the plating tank while the entire sink roll is completely immersed in the plating bath, in a vertical cross section in the longitudinal direction of the sink roll immersed in the molten metal plating bath, Install the sink roll so that the rotation axis of the sink roll is inclined with respect to the horizontal direction, and take out one shaft end of the sink roll rotation shaft outside the upper part of the plating bath and melt it in a cantilevered form. Having discovered that the above problem can be solved by installing the bearing in such a way that it does not come into contact with metal,
The invention has been completed.

Note that the sink roll of the hot-dip metal plating apparatus according to the present invention is arranged such that the rotation axis is inclined with respect to the horizontal direction in the vertical cross section in the longitudinal direction of the body in the plating bath, so that the workpiece is It is conceivable that the traveling direction of the copper strip changes significantly before and after this sink roll, but one or two turndown rolls that are paired with the sink roll and counteract the change in the traveling direction of the steel strip are considered. Two or more can be installed outside the plating tank.
