Abstract

PURPOSE:To ease the leveling and the aiming adjustment of a headlamp by providing an adjusting screw, passing through a bracket and a cam and threadedly engaged and connected with a nut, on a body, and springedly mounting a spring between the body and the bracket. CONSTITUTION:The approximate 90 deg. rotation of a cam 15 in a clockwise direction with a nut 16 as a center causes the abutting of the front surface 15a of the cam 15 to the back surface of the vertical part 14b of a bracket 14. The bracket 14 is retreated by the force of a compression coil spring 34 by the difference of D-D1, where D: a distance from the center O of the nut 16 to the upper surface 15b of the cam 15 and D1: a distance to the front surface 15a, and a headlamp device 1 is rotated in a counterclockwise direction to downwardly adjust an irradiation angle. Then the rotation-adjustment of an adjusting screw 18 causes the advancing and retreating of the nut 16 together with the cam 15, and the advancing and retreating of the bracket 14 by the force of the compression coil spring 34. Consequently the irradiation angle of the headlamp device 1 can be adjusted forward or rearward.

[Prior Art] Conventionally, in vehicle headlamp devices, it is necessary to correctly adjust the direction of illumination, so the reflector or headlamp unit is held so as to be tiltable in the front, rear, left and right directions.
The irradiation direction is adjusted (aiming adjustment) by tilting this using an aiming mechanism during assembly adjustment, inspection, replacement, etc.

In addition, the vehicle body is supported by a suspension system so that it can move up and down in order to absorb vibrations, shocks, etc., so the posture of the vehicle body changes depending on the load and the position where the load is applied. Change. In particular, when a load is applied to the rear part, the irradiation direction is directed upward, which may dazzle the driver of an oncoming vehicle. Therefore, the adjustment of the irradiation direction based on this load (leveling adjustment) can be automatically performed separately from the aiming adjustment by remote control from the driver's seat. This kind of headlight leveling device is
In the case of automobiles, the adjustment is generally performed using a driving means such as a motor, so that adjustment in multiple stages is possible.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] By the way, in two-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles, when two people are riding, the optical axis of the headlight is directed upwards considerably compared to when two people are riding, so it is difficult to see the oncoming vehicle. The effect on drivers traveling in front of the vehicle is greater than that of ordinary automobiles, so leveling adjustments are required to compensate for this. At present, it is not mandatory to install this type of leveling device, but standards have been set in Europe and other countries, and making it mandatory is being considered. In that case, it may be possible to use an automotive leveling device for motorcycles, but automotive leveling devices are expensive because they have multiple levels of upper and lower adjustment or stepless adjustment, and use electronic components such as motors and circuits. There was a problem in applying it as is. In addition, in the case of two-wheeled vehicles, the load changes in two stages with one or two people riding, so
There was a need for an inexpensive device that could switch the irradiation angle in two or three stages without requiring multiple stages of adjustment.

[Operation] In the present invention, the cam, the nut provided on the cam, and the adjusting screw screwed into the nut connect the headlamp device to the vehicle body in an adjustable manner. That is, when the cam is rotated by the operating member, the distance between the vehicle body and the bracket is changed, and accordingly the headlamp device is rotated in the front and rear directions around its rotational fulcrum, and the irradiation angle is adjusted ( leveling adjustment). In addition, when the adjusting screw rotates to move the nut forward and backward along with the cam, the distance between the vehicle body and the bracket changes, so the headlight device rotates back and forth around its pivot point, causing the illumination angle to change. is adjusted (aiming adjustment)

In the state before the leveling adjustment shown in FIG. 4(a), the cam 15 is held substantially horizontally with the front surface 15a facing down.
The upper surface 15b is in close contact with the back surface of the vertical portion 14b of the bracket 14. At this time, the headlamp device 1 is set to a normal (-Mahayana) irradiation angle. In this state,
When luggage is placed on the rear seat or a fellow passenger gets on the rear seat, a load is applied to the rear of the vehicle body, causing the headlight device 1 to face upward. Therefore, operate the switching lever near the handle to switch the cam 15 as shown in Figure 4 (
When the nut 16 is rotated approximately 90 degrees clockwise as shown in b), the front surface 15a of the cam 15 comes into close contact with the rear surface of the vertical portion 14b of the bracket 14. This cam 15
During the operation, the protrusion 24 presses the bracket 14 against the compression coil spring 34, and the pressing force decreases just before the rotation ends, giving a click feeling to the operator's hand. The cam 1
5 is rotated approximately 90 degrees, and its front surface 15a is attached to the bracket 14.
When the bracket 14 is brought into close contact with , the bracket 14 is retracted by the force of the compression coil spring 34 by the difference D-D, thereby causing the headlamp device 1 to rotate counterclockwise around the rotation fulcrum O (Fig. 1). The irradiation angle is adjusted downward (leveling adjustment).

4 to the front against the compression coil spring 34,
In the case of retraction, the bracket 14 is moved backward by the force of the compression coil spring 34. Therefore, similarly to the leveling adjustment, the headlamp device 1 is rotated forward or backward about the rotational fulcrum O to adjust the illumination angle.

In this embodiment, the cam 15 has two cam surfaces, the front surface 15a and the top surface 15b, and a case has been described in which one stage of leveling adjustment is performed by the front surface 15a, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, if a diagonal cam surface that is inclined at approximately 45 degrees is provided between these surfaces, the leveling adjustment can be performed in two stages.

[Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the leveling device for a motorcycle headlamp device according to the present invention allows the angle of the headlamp device to be adjusted in the longitudinal direction with respect to the vehicle body using a cam, a nut, and an adjusting screw. Since the headlight device is connected and rotated by the rotation of the cam, the illumination angle of the headlight device can be adjusted according to changes in load, and by adjusting the rotation of the adjuster screw, Since the cam can move forward and backward to adjust the aiming of the headlight device, it can also be used as an aiming device, has a relatively simple structure, has a small number of parts, and can be provided at low cost. It's very large.
