(Prior Art) Electric wires originally have a circular cross section. However, it has recently become clear that wind noise and snow buildup on electric wires are caused by the circular cross-sectional shape of the electric wires. In order to reduce wind noise and snow accretion on wires, it is effective to use wires with a non-circular cross-section, such as wires with fins.

Method 1 has the drawbacks of poor workability and high cost. Method 2 consists of two parts, so they were held together with something like tape.
Not only did the parts sometimes separate, resulting in very poor workability, but there was also the risk of parts falling during work.

(Solution by invention) A split collar consisting of two members 3a and 3b to be placed over a finned electric wire, the two members 3a and 3b
have the same shape, and when one member is turned 180° and faces each other, the spiral fin part 1 of the finned electric wire
One dividing surface is spirally cut out to form a spiral groove 6 that engages with the spiral groove 6, and the end of the elastic band 4 formed in an arc shape is fixed to a portion close to the spiral groove 6, and both members 3a and 3b can be expanded against the elasticity of the elastic band.

Now, with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a collar applied to a gripping portion of a finned electric wire as shown in FIG. 3 will be explained. 3a and 3b are members constituting the split collar, and these two members are molded from aluminum or the like similar to the material of the finned electric wire. 4 is two parts 3
This is an elastic band that prevents parts a and 3b from being separated, and is made of rubber or thin spring steel, and has stopper parts 5 at both ends provided on each of the two members 3a and 3b.
It is fixed by adhesive or inset.

4 to 6 show examples of the stop portion 5. In the case of FIG. 4, a hole 5a into which the end of the elastic band 4 is inserted is provided integrally with the split collar member 3a or 3b, and the elastic band 4 is inserted into this hole 5a and fixed with adhesive or the like. In the case of FIG. 5, a hook-shaped portion 5b is provided integrally with which both ends of the elastic band 4 are engaged, and the hook-shaped portion 5b is inserted into this portion and fixed with an adhesive or the like. Furthermore, in the case of FIG. 6, a groove 5c into which the elastic band 4 is fitted is formed in advance, and after the elastic band 4 is fitted therein, the ends are fixed by adhesive or the like.

6 is a spiral groove into which the front fin portion 1 is fitted. This groove 6 is provided on the side where the elastic band 4 is not attached,
It is now expandable. In addition, elastic band 4
A gap 7 is also provided on the side where the collar is attached so that when the split collar is expanded, the side of the spiral groove 6 can be expanded easily and without difficulty. Moreover, the existence of this gap helps to relieve the stress generated in the elastic band when attaching the wire gripping part.

(How to attach to the grip part) Expand the spiral groove 6 against the elasticity of the elastic band 4, apply the spiral groove 6 to the fin part 1 of the finned electric wire, and release your hand. With the elasticity of the elastic band 4, the split collar is firmly held on the wire. In this state, a gripping clamp or the like can be attached without fear of falling or slipping (Fig. 7).

Although not shown in the drawings, the gripping clamps that clamp the divided collars are provided with relief grooves for the thickness of the elastic band to prevent direct compressive force from being applied to the elastic band. However, it is recommended to use an elastic band made of thin rubber or the like, or to use grooves 5 in advance as shown in Figure 6.
If c is provided, the relief groove on the clamp side is not necessarily required.

(Effect) Since the two members that make up the split collar are connected with an elastic band, when the split collar is attached to the finned electric wire, the split collar will not be separated by the tightening force of the elastic band. Of course, since it is properly tightened onto the finned electric wire, it is prevented from slipping laterally or falling, and it is possible to safely and easily attach a gripping clamp or the like in an unstable place high up in the air.
