Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of NOx without interfering with the combustion efficiency and stabilize the combustion by providing a header in which fuel injection nozzles are arranged unevenly in a circle around the axis of the header. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of fuel injection nozzles formed in a header 1 include two having a larger bore. These nozzles are so arranged that, in the flaming regions formed on the right and the left of the center of the header, fuel is injected in excess of the average and hence produces a little surplus, whereas, in the flaming regions above and under the center, a surplus of air is produced. Therefore, downstream from the burner, the combustion produces a flame which is asymmetric with portions forming flaming regions oversupplied with fuel and the other portions, flaming regions oversupplied with air, that is, formation of a flame produced in part by concentrated combustion and in part by thin combustion. This decreases the average temperature of the flame and hence restrains the generation of NOx.

Burners for burning gas, heavy oil, or pulverized coal are widely used, and in conventionally known burners, the header with the nozzle for fuel injection is either a body or a substantially completely rotating body such as a truncated cone. The nozzles were arranged in an annular shape on the side or front of the rotating body, and the spray angle and nozzle diameter were also uniform.

In short, the gist of the present invention is to make the streamline distribution of the fuel injected from the header non-uniform in the circumferential direction around the central axis of the header, thereby eliminating the excessive flame area of the fuel and the excessive flame area of the air. The purpose of the present invention is to suppress the generation of NOx without reducing the combustion efficiency by reducing the temperature of the flame through its concentrated combustion.
