Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a washing effect comparable ton the effect of the conventional washing method without using an org. solvent such as chlorofluorocarbon, an alcoholic solvent, etc., by removing water sticking to washed and rinsed parts with an oily dewatering agent and drying the parts. CONSTITUTION:Oil and rust preventing oil sticking to bearing parts 3 are removed in a rough washing process (a), a precision washing process (b) and a finish washing process (c). A washing liq. sticking to the parts 3 in the washing process (c) is removed in a rough rinsing process (a) and a finish rinsing process (b). Water sticking to the parts 3 in the rinsing process (b) is removed in a rough dewatering process (a) and a finish dewatering process (b). A dewatering agent sticking to the parts 3 in the dewatering process (b) is vacuum- dried or dried by heating the parts 3 at a temp. below the flash point of the dewatering agent. The parts 3 are then immersed in a rust preventing liq. for a prescribed time and the liq. is dried.

In recent years, from the standpoint of "environmental protection," regulations on the use of fluorinated solvents such as fluorocarbons and chlorinated solvents such as trichloroethane have been strengthened. In particular, because fluorocarbons have the effect of destroying the ozone layer in the stratosphere, there is a trend toward regulating their use on a worldwide scale. Furthermore, alcohol solvents have a low flash point and are highly dangerous as a cause of fires, explosions, and the like.

(A) A cleaning process in which parts are washed with a water-soluble detergent. (B) A rinsing process in which the water-soluble detergent adhering to the parts is rinsed with water containing a rust preventive agent. (D) A drying process in which the oil-based draining agent adhering to the parts is dried. (E) A rust-preventing process in which a rust preventive is applied to the parts and the applied rust preventive is further dried. Rust Process [Function] After the cleaning and rinsing processes have been completed, the parts are subjected to a drying process after the adhering moisture is removed using an oil-based draining agent.

Freon and alcohol solvents can be removed by natural drying because their boiling points are extremely low, but in the case of oil-based draining agents, it takes some time to remove them by natural drying, so a drying process is required to shorten the cleaning time. I did it like that. Although this requires a slight increase in the number of steps compared to conventional cleaning methods, when considering issues such as environmental pollution and safety, the effect of eliminating the need for fluorocarbons and the like is significant.

(E) Rust prevention process This process aims to prevent rust from occurring after parts have been cleaned. In this step, the same treatment as the draining step (C) and the drying step (D) is performed using a rust preventive liquid in which a petroleum solvent is mixed with a rust preventive oil. That is, after the bearing component is immersed in the rust preventive liquid for a predetermined period of time, the rust preventive liquid is dried.
